📍 Camelot

October, 503 AD

"Merlin! Wake the fudge up, you pillow-head! Arthur's gonna kill you!" I yelled as I jumped on my friend's bed like a child would on their parents' (or uncle and aunt's) on a Christmas morning. "Okay, okay! I am up!" he exclaimed as he shot up, shoving me off him. I fell to the floor with a gasp, but was lucky to land on a carpet that laid between the two beds, which possibly saved me from a concussion. Merlin's eyes widened at my figure, but I ignored it as I scrambled to my feet. "Good! Now hurry up and wake Prince Prat! And bring him his breakfast! I'll retrieve his armour!" I ordered the sorcerer before rushing out of the room.

"Everything looks the same, how am I supposed to know which things are Arthur's?" I wondered out loud as my eyes squinted, carefully scanning the dimly-lit armoury. "What are you doing here?" a male voice asked from behind me. I started and turned around, my heart racing. "Um. I'm helping Merlin retrieve the prince's armour," I replied shakily, but relaxed a bit after realising that the man was wearing Camelot's colours. "Oh, it is right over here," the curly blond replied with a friendly smile, leading me towards a spot towards the back of the room. "Awesome, thanks!" I said, returning the grin. "No problem. My name is Sir Leon, if you ever need help with anything else," he said gently. "That's very kind of you. I'm Astra," I answered.

Sir Leon left the armoury and left me alone to grab Arthur's gear. I had to put the chest thingy and the helmet on myself in order to carry it all in a single trip. The darn metal pieces were heavy, making me question how the knights could move so gracefully with all of that on.

As I made my way outside the room, I noticed a red flash coming from another spot in the room. I glanced around, wondering what object in the middle ages could emit a red light. I noticed a yellow shield with three green snakes painted on it – Valiant's shield, I recognised. The light seemed to be coming from it, as one of the snakes' eyes appeared to be blinking. I slowly walked closer to it, tilting my head as I tried to understand what was happening.

"May I help you with something, young lady?" a raspy male voice asked. I nearly jumped out of my skin again as I turned around, coming face to face with Valiant himself. Panic began to settle within me. "Uh, no. I was just retrieving the Prince's armour. I was actually just leaving. See you around, Mr. Knight," I rambled as I quickly moved around the tall brunet and ran out of the armoury, thanking heaven that he did not try to stop me.

"Next time, you're getting the armour," I told Merlin pointedly as I strode into Arthur's room and dropped all the metal on the floor, slightly panting from the effort. The sorcerer chuckled as he noticed my annoyed expression."What happened?" he asked. "Forking Knight Valiant's what happened," I mumbled in reply, huffing as I took a seat on a table. "Did he hurt you?" Merlin asked, clenching his jaw. "Nah, but he did scare me half to death," I replied with a pout. The black-haired boy snorted and shook his head at me in amusement.
