Chapter 15- Guy in the Hood

When my eyes opened it was six am. I saw Shane's bed empty. Maybe he is good now. I went directly into the kitchen. I saw him eating some toast.

'Did you make some for me?' I asked him.

'No. you don't deserve any food after the incidents which happened yesterday.' He said taking another bite from the toast. Is he fucking serious? Does he even remember what happened yesterday?

'Do you even remember what happened yesterday? You were out cold!' I told him. he glared at me.

'I had to drink because of you.' He said. What?

'I didn't even ask you to. You could have left if you wanted to.' I said.

'Left? I could leave you with that Luke? He is a drunk!' he said. His voice raised.

'He is not!!' I shouted at Shane.

'I don't want to see you with him again.' He said in a calm voice. His voice was firm.

I didn't reply and went to my room. Before I knew it was time for school. Shane forced me to go on his bike. Fuck him!

The whole day I couldn't stop thinking about Luke. He is the only thing in my mind He, his hazel green eyes with dark circles and his lonely house.

During dispersal Principal McKay called Shane for some reason. He told me to wait for him near the school gate. I stood near the school gate. I met a pair of familiar eyes. The hazel green eyes with dark circles. It was Luke. I got so happy just by seeing him. He walked towards me.

'Hi.' He told me. He looked embarrassed.

'Hey!' I replied and smiled widely.

'About yesterday.....' I didn't let him complete.

'Its okay you don't have to apologize.' I said and patted his shoulder friendly.

'No really. I shouldn't have let Adam and Trevor bring up that topic.' He said and lowered his head.

'No problem Luke. Its okay.' I said and smiled at him again. He still looked embarrassed.

'Can I treat you to a coffee?' he asked looking more embarrassed than ever. I don't know why he looks so embarrassed I just forgave him!

'Sure.' I replied with a smile. He looks relieved.

'ERIKA!' I heard someone shout from behind. Before I could turn behind Shane came and stood just beside me.

'Let's get going.' He said and glared at Luke.

'Shane I was just taking Erika to a coffee place.' Luke said with a smile.

'She won't go with you.' Shane said angrily.

'Yes I am going with him.' I said. I am really going to regret this.

Shane's eyes moved towards me. It was like a warning. His eyes were telling me to stay away from him but I walked towards Luke.

'See you later Shane.' I said. Luke smiled at Shane and waved him bye.

On the way to the coffee shop Luke constantly talked with me. Not the talks which irritate me he was talking on sensible topics. For some reason he knew what I was interested in. He ordered the coffee for me in the coffee place. He ordered my favorite one of that place. I sipped on my coffee slowly. There were a million questions I wanted to ask him.

'Can I ask you a question?' I asked him. I hope he wont get upset by my questions.

'Ask.' He replied and put his cup down on the table. Okay here goes nothing.
