The morning was infused with a content lullaby. A faint murmur of soft words, the trickle of a light and crisp sound. That morning was the eradication of any malicious or aching sensation, it was just the thrilling press of skin and the easing strokes of another's lips. There were no memories too painful to withhold the joy any more, every recollection was numbed by the sweetness of Leo's mouth. And every minor key was replaced with an uproar of a million enchanting sonatas.

Pip was tangled in a collection of limbs and sheets, to be more precise Leo's long legs. He couldn't help but stroke the other boys mop of ink locks and paint his forehead with a battle field of kisses. Leo just smiled sleepily and placed a cool hand on his cheek. No matter how close they got Pip would never be able to dull the fire that unleashed itself in the pit of his stomach every time there skin touched. It was an addictive explosion.

Leo moved his mouth to hover over Pips ear. His skin erupted in a mass of goosebumps produced entirely from the other boys warm breath.

"No April rain, no flowers bloom," Leo whispered the words of song and Pip knew the answer.

Leo pulled away to face him.

"No wedding Saturday within the month of June." Pip replied softly.

Leo smoothed Pips cheek with his toasty hand as pip brought his thumb to Leo's pink lips.

"But what it is, is something true." Leo sung the words hoarsely.

It was an ugly sound and Pip couldn't help but laugh.

"Made up of these three words that I must say to you." Pip could barely get the words out, without the chuckles blocking his throat.

Leo moved so he was above Pip with his arms propping him up. They both shared a chuckle.

"I just called to say I love you." Leo planted a kiss to his cheek.

A wave of giddiness and pure elation consumed the pounding muscle in Pips chest. His lungs intercepted by the sparks of euphoria bursting in every fibre of his body.

"I love you," Leo whispered over and over again.

Pip would never get tired of those words. He could hear them over a cup of tea, he could hear them when a storm was erupting outside he could even hear them as the world ended. He could hear them in any language as long as they came from Leo's mouth.

Without another thought Pip hauled the other boy into a warm kiss. It wasn't just kiss, not really. It was a dance, a song, a painting. It was a confession.

"I love you too." Pip revealed.

And no longer was Pip Winter a scarred boy with a sad song directing his life. He had no control over what notes were played but he would listen and he wouldn't hear darkness anymore. When he closed his eyes he wasn't met with a glum tone, instead he could see every tepid melody that enclosed his chest.

Pip Winter was no longer an enigma, not to himself and not to Leo Miller.
