11. Regrets That Keep Coming

The relationship that you and Mikey shared was a well-known secret to everyone. That is, you could be hanging out with your friends in public and a member of  a rival gang could spot you and know who you were, but the threat of the Invincible Mikey along with the feared Toman captains looming over them stopped them from ever approaching you and wreaking havoc.

Usually, you would wait in the parking lot for the meeting to be finished with Emma or the girlfriends of other members, and once the meeting was over and they came down the stairs leading up to the shrine, you would talk to the members you were familiar with and get updates and gossip from them, so you were a bit surprised when Mikey invited you all the way up tonight.

"I'm glad to see you all here today," he began once Draken got the assembled members to quiet down," Tomorrow we're going head to head with Valhalla. They picked this fight with us. There's nothing for us to gain!... Also, Baji has sided with our enemy! We don't go easy on traitors, that's Toman's policy!"

Pausing, he lifted his eyes which had been looking down this whole time to meet yours, and you realized why you were here right now. Unnoticed by everyone else you smiled and nodded encouragingly, giving him a subtle thumbs up, and Mikey felt sure he could go on after that.

"Can I...just be a kid?" Mikey flopped down and sat on the stairs as confused murmurs ran through the crowd. "I don't wanna fight Baji. So here's my solution! Lend me your strength, everyone! Tomorrow, we're gonna crush Valhalla...and take Baji back! That's how we...FIGHT OUR BATTLES!"

The crowd erupted with cheers as their leader smiled in satisfaction, and you couldn't help but grin as you looked on, amazed at how much everybody looked up to him.

When everybody had already left save the captains and vice-captains, Kisaki approached you while the others talked, and you decided you would give trying to like him another try.

"You look pretty happy, Kisaki-kun," you smiled," Did something happen today?"

"Does something have to happen for me to be in a good mood, (y/n)?" He returned your smile with an icy one.

"W-well," you regretted whatever made you want to talk to him," Not really."

He chuckled as he came and stood beside you, looking over the others.

"You know, you should come tomorrow, get to see Mikey in action. You've never seen him in a fight, right? And don't you want to welcome Baji back?"

"Oh, not really," you laughed awkwardly," I don't think I want to see people getting beaten up."

He kept on talking to you, trying to convince you to do so, and when Chifuyu looked towards you he got intrigued at what might be happening.

"What are you guys talking about, (y/n)-chan?"His chirped, smiling politely.

"Nothing big, reall-"

"(y/n) was talking about wanting to come to tomorrow's fight," Kisaki answered as he interrupted you, and all the talking died down immediately.

"What?" Mikey was the first one to speak," What do you mean?"

"I don't think you should, (y/n)," Mitsuya gently told you, hoping that you weren't being serious.
