Chapter 6 - Is Stage Basically a Third Wheel in this Chapter?
Warnings: Slight anxiety again, nothing too bad I think
A/N, so no, I haven't listened to 'Two Player Game' because I am banned from it (Sunny, you are too), but I asked Flames (who asked Paint) for a song that described their friendship or that they'd duet together and they chose this (:
Third Person POV

Flames stared at themself in the mirror.

Paint walked into the bathroom. "Hey, Jack." They greeted with a smile.

Flames whipped around to face them, their hands gripping the counter behind them so tightly that their knuckles were turning white.

Paint seemed slightly confused and concerned. "Jack?" They started softly. "Are you alright?" They asked.

Flames' eyes darted around as they tried to think of any logical answer for how they ended up in this situation.

"Wait..." Paint started slowly, their eyes squinted. "You look familiar." They stated.

Realization seemed to dawn on Flames as their grip loosened a bit, their eyes wide. "Paint?" They asked.

"Oh my God, Flames." Paint gasped.

Flames immediately grabbed them in a hug. "I'm not alone." They whispered. "Thank gosh."

Paint hugged them back. "Wow..." They mumbled, their grip on their best friend tight. "You give nice hugs."

Flames laughed softly. "I love hugs." They responded.

The two Newsies stayed like that for a few minutes.

"I don't want to pull away." Flames mumbled, their head resting against Paint's shoulder.

They- eventually- forced themselves to pull away.

Flames looked around the bathroom. "Where are we?" They asked, looking back at Paint.

Someone entered the room. "Manhattan, New York City, 1899." They answered.

"Okay, Stage," Paint started, turning to face her. "That's creepy. Don't do that." They told her.

Stage laughed to herself. "Sorry, Romeo did the dramatic entrance thing and I wanted to try it." She explained.

(A/N, when you fail at typing and continuously type 'she' wrong...)

Flames looked between the two Newsies. "Who's this?" They asked quietly.

"Hi!" Stage grinned. "I'm Stage!" She introduced herself, sticking her hand out for Flames to shake.

Flames shook her hand. "Flames."

Stage smiled. "So, you merged too?" She asked.

Paint facepalmed. "You have got to stop starting with "You merged too?"" They mocked Stage's high-pitched voice.

Stage frowns. "I don't sound like that." She muttered.

Flames and Paint shared a look, before scoffing in unison.

Stage looked between them. "You two know each other?" She asked.

Paint nodded, pointing to Flames. "They're my best friend." It answered.

Flames threw their arms around Paint's shoulders. "Aww! Thanks!" They exclaimed.

Paint rolled their eyes, smiling.

"They/them pronouns." Stage muttered to herself. "Got it."

"You?" Flames asked.

Stage's blue eyes meet Flames' eyes. "She/her." She answered with a smile.
