Chameleon means "earth lion" in Greek

You can bathe a chameleon but it is strongly recommended not to as it is completely unnecessary to do so and is also very stressful for them. Chameleons hate being sprayed directly with water

they can't swim

they don't recognize standing water. if you bath your chameleon is they will just sit there, feel stressed, show stressed colours and they will just want you to put them back in their cage where they can dry off

Espio breathed in the nice fresh summer air as he rested on his sun lounger, letting the suns beams hit his skin and allowing his mind to feel at peace

it was paradise

at least, before he was interrupted by the sudden and unwelcoming splash of cold liquid against his scales

espio opened his eyes in shock, shaking the displeasing wet substance from his body whilst a familiar laugh echoed the outdoor space

the ninja growled as he saw charmy holding a water gun that was directed in his direction, the weapon of his sudden bad mood

"charmy, proceed and you're getting a ninja star embedded in your skull!" Espio warned

charmy quickly backed down, flying off to cream to escape espio's wrath

"jeez, someone woke on the wrong side of the bed" Amy commented nearby

"I just don't like getting wet" espio responded with slight annoyance, wiping the water with a towel

"then why come to a pool party ?" Amy continued to question

"because I love the heat and fresh air, plus I have to ensure vector and charmy don't do anything stupid" Espio once more replied

"well I'm going in, see you later" Amy declared as she walked over to the pool, hosted by the kind vanilla who had organised the entire event as a thank you for saving the world...again

soon everyone was in the water

well except sonic and espio

sonic's reason was world known

but with espio's they thought he was just being stubborn

so they decided to pull a friendly little prank to get the chameleon to unwind

"espio! come in the water to play Marco polo!" tails second

"no, thank you" espio replied

"what?" the fox asked, pretending to have misheard him

"I said no thank you" espio repeated

"What?!" the fox repeated

so with a grumble espio walked over to the fox so he could hear him better, the ninja thinking he must have had water in his ears

he stood just a few meters away from the edge

"I said-" espio began before he felt two pairs of arms tackle him from behind

"wait stop!" a voice tried to warn but it was too late as the chameleon was pushed into the water with a large splash

these hands belonging to a miss Amy rose, laughing as she also fell into the water

but as the chameleon reemerged, he did not share the same joyous look

instead, he began to flail in terror as he struggled to keep his head above the water, gasping desperately as

"um espio?" tails asked in shock, only to be interrupted by a very terrified shouting voice

"he can't swim!" the urgent voice of vector declared as he entered the pool with a splash, coming to his friend's rescue
