Chameleon means "earth lion" in Greek

colour part 5

: fear 

(before the cure of the zombots)

Espio the chameleon had 3 big fears that shook him to his core 

1-no freedom/no control/ trapped 

2- failing his family/clan and losing his honour 

3- failing his friends, not able to help or save them 

Espio had been having nightmares 

in each one there was always vector holding a zombified charmy and vector sacrificing himself for the greater good 

and in each one, Espio couldn't do anything about it

sometimes he was locked down with chains 

sometimes lava was blocking his path 

but this night was the worse 

there was nothing on him, nothing blocking his path, he could get them 

he ran before vector trapped himself off into the hoard of zombots 

he ran but the door closed of

with all his might he couldn't get it open 

"Please!!" I can't lose you two again! he cried 

but the door refused to budge 

to make matters worse, the walls began to cave in 

"no, please, just open...LET ME OUT" he screamed 

"ESPIO?!" 

at once Espio woke up, bolting out of bed as if it was filled with pins and needled 

"Hey, hey, it's ok" he heard a voice say 

but he was still panicking, he felt like he was suffocating, he couldn't breath

"Espio, just breath" the voice continued 

finally taking into his surroundings he saw Amy rose looking at him with concern and worry 

"A...Amy?" he tried to ask, but his voice was filled with sadness and sobs

"I'm here, everything ok" Amy reassured, she slowly began to walk closer to the chameleon 

Espio was curling upon himself, trying to breathe and make himself smaller to make the world feel bigger   

Amy took note of just how scared her teammate was 

his scales were extremely dark and was shivering with fear 

Amy knew this happened when Espio was truly frightened, having seen experienced once when locked in a small cave once during an earthquake 

Espio had changed his scales to indicate he was shocked/ in defence. the longer they were in their the darker his colour would get due to his fear levels intensifying

Amy knew Espio wouldn't change back to his original colour until he is ensured that his life is fully secured/safe

and this is what she would do right now 

Amy didn't know what was going through his mind, to lose two of the closest friends that were practically family to him 

to be the only survivor 

Amy knew that he tried to carry on, for the sake of the team and fight for the resistance 

but something like that....like this, it's obviously going to cause an impact 

and that impact made an explosion 

Espio was having a panic attack right in front of her eyes

she had heard some shouting of distress from his temporary room of the headquarters 

and there she saw him having the worse night horrors ever 

now she had to wait for him to breath 

only then would she be able to comfort him

it took long, but Amy was patient when needed to be 

Espio had soon settled on deep crying which then Amy decided to comfort the chameleon 

she wrapped her arms around him to let him know he was ok, that he wasn't alone

luckily he took this embrace and continued to cry 

Amy knew it was going to happen and made well sure that he wasn't weak for expressing his emotions

telling him he was ok, to breath and she was there for him while 

he whispered "I couldn't save them...I couldn't do anything" but Amy continued to hold him close, saying there was nothing you could do at that moment, but he was doing something now, they all were and that they would eventually get their friends back 

espio's crying soon soothed 

eventually falling into a calm rhythm which indicated that he had gone back to sleep 

Amy guessed he hadn't had a decent night sleep since the incident and heated himself upon it daily 

she felt guilty she had to rush his grief to continue the fight 

she would be sure to make sure that he was alright mentally 

she would make sure he was safe from these nightmares 

there was only a few of them left now and didn't want to lose any more 

"don't worry esp, we'll get them back, I promise"
