Chameleon means "earth lion" in Greek

"What did you do ?" Vector angrily asked the smirking bat who was supporting a tipsy chameleon detective 

The two were on a duo infiltration mission, and with both being skilful spy's it was a no brainer for them to team up

As a way of celebrating a great successful mission, rouge had dragged the ninja to a bar for drinks 

Rouge decided she wanted to learn more about the famous well reserved quiet chameleon of the Chaotix's team 

And even though they had joined forces when helping sonic defeat Eggman in the past she realised she hardly knew anything about him 

He was like a shadow and knuckles in some ways, but also a different person too

But like his reputation, he was very closed and gave little to really share information of himself 

So when she ordered drinks she decided to put a secret ingredient in the chameleon's drink 

A few drinks later and he was like an open book

And the book was a treasure trove of secrets and gossip 

"Just showing the kid some fun, night sweetheart" rouge said happily as she let the chameleon enter the house, kissing him on the cheek before flying off 

"He's 16! You are so lucky I don't know where you live or I would be getting the police on your-" vector began to rant 

But he knew she was too far away to hear his screams anymore 

Sighing he slammed the door in annoyance 

"Vector what's going on?" Charmy asked as he exited from his room 

Only to be interrupted by a loud commotion from the bathroom 

There was a sight that the two never thought to see in their entire life 

Espio actually was trying to climb the water that was coming from the shower 

He had a face of pure determination as he tried to grasp the water like a rope, only for it to slip out of his fingers 

Vector and charmy tried to hold in their laughter, but it was just too funny 

"Oy vey, ok bud, let's get you to bed" vector announced as he wiped the tears from his eyes 

But as his vision became less blurry he realised the chameleon was no longer there 

"Espio?" Vector asked worriedly, as he went looking around the house, but he couldn't find him 

"Where'd he go ?" Charmy asked in confusion 

"Did you know that Amy writes fan fiction about her and sonic?" the familiar voice asked, causing the two other chaotixs by surprise 

The voice seemed to be coming up from above, and as they looked up they found they were correct 

Espio was on the ceiling crawling the walls and apparently sharing private secrets of their friends 

"And tails had swapped sonics lunchtime chilli dog with a veggie dog with spices" Espio continued to ramble 

(Oh no, he's a secret spouter when drunk) vector thought to himself with an internal sigh 

The crocodile knew the chameleon would never share these secrets in the right mind, but in this vulnerable state it seemed he wasn't in the right mind at all 

"That's great esp, why don't you come down and tell us all about it," vector asked anxiously  

Although he was planning on covering his ears and getting the chameleon to bed as fast as he could 

Although it was quite funny and interesting, he didn't want to take advantage of the little guy like that 

"Also did you know Shadow sleeps with a small Maria plush" Espio continued, ignoring his boss and continued to crawl the ceiling, he began crawling to the wall that leads to the stairs 

"Why is Espio acting like this? He never shares stuff like this" charmy asked, stifling a laugh from the ninja's last statement 

"Rouge, um, poisoned him and that's caused him to be like this" vector explained as he followed the runaway chameleon 

"So what can we do?" Charmy continued to question 

"We need to get him to rest, and to do that, your going to need some headphones" vector declared 

With both wearing headphones so to stop hearing espio's gossip and a net in hand (they used it regularly when charmy was in one of his sugar rushes, the two detectives went chameleon hunting 

When they found Espio vector made sure to keep the chameleon's attention on him 

That way charmy could help to de-latch the ninja's hand and feet of the ceiling so vector could catch him in the net 

But that was easier said than done 

The chameleon's grip on the wall seemed to be sticky strong 

But eventually, after 5 minutes of futile trying, charmy got impatient and just got his water gun and sprayed it at the chameleon's feet, hands and face 

Vector didn't even get time to net him as he quickly caught the water dripping ninja in his arms 

"Ugh, great work charmy...I think" vector shouted, happy they got their teammate of the wall, but not so please he and the chameleon were dripping with water 

"Let's get you dried of and into bed," vector said to himself as he reached for a nearby towel 

It had been fun but vector was ready for it to end 

Espio didn't stop squirming as vector tried to dry him off, and when he placed the chameleon onto the bed, he was simply not ready to sleep as he kept getting out of it 

Leading to more wall climbing and water spraying 

Eventually, the chameleon had tired himself out and fell asleep on one of the walls 

"He can't even stand properly but he can climb for all the money in the world," vector thought to himself as he pried the sleeping chameleon of the walls for the 11th time that night 

Charmy had gone to bed by this time and vector was planning to follow the little bees lead 

But when he tried to place the sleeping ninja into bed he found that he couldn't 

Espio was stuck on him like a fly on a spiders web 

Happily sleeping as he stuck to vectors arm like it was his pillow 

Vector sighed tiredly but also with amusement, it was moments like this vector was reminded that Espio was still a kid 

Yes a very mature well-disciplined kid that thought the training was fun 

But a kid non the less 

Too tired to detach him vector just decided to go to sleep with the chameleon on his arm 

The crocodile couldn't wait to see the look of pure embarrassment on the little guys face in the morning 

He was sure to get a lot of mileage out of this
