anyone who knew Espio would say he wasn't one to show his emotions 

he was a very restrained 

but if you looked closely there were always ways to see exactly what the ninja was feeling 

and here are a few instances that show this:

(whenever chameleons feel like asserting themselves they will show strong colours are their way of scaring off predators or showing that it will not be messed with)

whenever Espio was in a battle his body would go into a bold purple colour to show just this

although not noticeable to his friends 

his enemies would take a step back in fear 

the menacing look on his face and the dark aura that seemed to radiate off his scales were all Espio needed to get the upper hand 

not that he didn't already with his ninja training, but it was good to have a few tricks up his gloves 

(unwillingness to be approached, they will change their colour to a bright colour pattern) 

the gang were celebrating their latest Eggman/metal sonic defeated and everyone had been invited 

this was, of course, the joining of all teams  

but here we will be focusing on team chaotixs and team dark 

these two teams had never met one another and it went well as expected 

charmy thought shadow was so unbelievably cool 

rouge and vector got on well due to their unhealthy relationship with money, only disagreeing with how to really save and spend 

Espio and shadow got on well surprisingly enough, especially since they didn't talk to one another and stood in silence leaning against the wall and thinking deeply 

charmy didn't get on well with rouge, since charmy thought she was too girly and rouge thought he was too annoying 

but then came espio's and rouges interaction 

rouge seemed to take great interest in the chameleon 

he was like the inbetweener of shadow and knuckles 

and what did she do best with these types of boys

mess with them of course

"well hello there sweetheart" she started of, bold as ever 

immediately Espio was put off, shocked and slightly disturbed of the bold bat statement 

although his skin was going bright by instincts

she took it as him blushing 

so she decided to make it her mission to see how far she could push  

"please refrain from calling me that" Espio muttered quietly 

Espio, like many chameleons are not very social creatures whatsoever. They prefer to be alone, 

 (they only hang out with other chameleons during the mating season)

but this was something rouge had no intention of doing

"aww but why, you and me, we both wear our hearts on our chest" rouge continued

she made her way closer to where they were in an awkward hug where their "heart's" were almost  touching
