Roland's grandmother lives by herself in the woods, in a small cottage that her son had built for her years ago, she didn't concern herself with pack politics much however she knew everything. She enjoyed being surrounded by nature in the place she feels most at home, no one knows if she can still shift, but I believe she does.
Roland didn't bother knocking, he opened the door of the wooden home, that seemed to glow in the dark, with the inside lights shining brightly out the windows.

"Grams!" he called, walking into the small front room, his face lifting into a smile when he saw her head pop out from the small kitchenette she had nestled into the space beyond the front room.

"To what do I owe the visit of my sweet grandson?" she asked grabbing his face and kissing his cheek, I shuffled uncomfortably on my feet and her attention turned to me.

"And to your visit?" she nodded her head at me,

"Grams, Lily wants to ask a few questions about Alpha Knight, Former Alpha Knight" he corrected,

"What kind of questions?" her gaze narrowed as she looked me up and down, she was short and had aged but aged well, no one could guess her age because no one knew and those that did are either dead or never reveal it.

"I want to know what happened the night he murdered Lorraine Simmons and how they came to be together that night" she sighed,

"I didn't know if this day would ever come, an awful tragedy was covered up all those years ago and I believed it would stay that way until my dying day. Until I heard noise of you Lily, asking questions, digging into things you shouldn't be digging into and when I heard about how they were villainizing you and punishing you, I knew you were getting too close and that somehow you would find your way to my door." her small bright eyes turned to Roland,

"You should leave child" she told him, motioning for me to follow her to the small red couch she had stationed in front of the fire, she sat in the small armchair to the side.

"Why?" Roland asked, shocked he would be asked to leave,

"I don't want you involved in this, you need to stay as far away from it as possible" she explained,

"You should Roland" I added, "Plausible deniability and all that" still I could tell he didn't want to leave, but a final nod from his grams had him walking back out the front door. I stood in my spot another minute listening to Roland's retreating footsteps, Grams sat silent in her seat, unsure if she was also listening though I suspected she was, as she releases a breath at the same time, I stepped forward to join her.

"To tell you this story I need to tell you the rumours that had circulated at the time".

" We had lived in an uneasy peace with the Hunters, much like you are trying to implement, there weren't really many around here, just the Pruitt's, a big family but it was just them, Lorraine was a Pruitt, the only girl among five boys, the pride and joy of her parents. She was a beauty, all the boys wanted to court her, curry favour with her brothers, impress her father, the werewolves were no different, though they knew they would never actually be with Lorraine, they wanted her all the same. Lorraine and Conrad had been seeing each other in secret, Lorraine knew he was a werewolf, an Alpha, he knew she was the daughter of a hunter, but they didn't care, they were in love, it wasn't long until Lorraine's daddy found out and married her off to the Simmons boy, a steady boy, had a good job, good family, was a natural hunter and he was so smitten with Lorraine. Well Lorraine and Conrad continued to see each other in secret until a visiting pack arrived and Conrad found June, his mate, he left Lorraine without a second thought as that is what happens, everything that matter before is irrelevant" Lily sighed internally wishing that's what Holden did when he found out they were mates,
