Germany awoke to the sound of Third and Second coming back from their excursion with Soviet and the rest of them. They didn't sound too happy, what sounded like Second leaving back out to the garage. With a few quick toss and turns, Germany grumbled. With a groan he sat up in the bed. His fingers fumbled around his small table for his glasses, grasping his black-tipped fingers around the frames.

He looked at his clock after putting them on, seeing it was about an hour until dawn. Against his best judgement, he swung his legs out and onto the carpet. With a quick walk up the stairs, he found Third sitting on one of the chairs. A cigar was sitting on his lips, a cupped hand around the other end. Soon he clicked off the lighter, bending forward to rest his elbows on his knees. Germany noticed that his hat and fancy shoulder pads, along with everything else, was drenched.

After an inhale, Third let out a small stream of smoke.

"So, how did it go?"

"Terrible. Ve nearly crashed our boat with Taiwan's or one of those Asians, and ve didn't even catch the stupid thing."

"Vell it's not stupid if it could outsmart you." Germany chuckled, taking all the joy and mockery he could get out of one of the brothers. Third was by far the safer bet of the two however. He was honestly surprised when he didn't get a retort back from the Nazi. Instead the red flag let out another slow plume of smoke.

"Vhat happened?"

There was silence between the two.

"Vell. It jumped the ring of boats, landing on Soviet's boat. . . One of his kids vas either brave or naive enough to think that they could net the thing by themself. . . They got tangled in the net and it drug them overboard. . . After that it dashed into the trees. . Soviet jumped into the water and chased after them on shore. . . For all we know it killed two countries."

"So, so you just left those two in the forest? Did you even bother to look?" Germany didn't realize that his voice rose slightly, still not fully grasping the situation.

"Yes, we did look! Me and Soviet didn't make another alliance for nothing! Ve couldn't find his nor the creature's trail, and ve knew as good as anyone here how easy it is to get lost in those voods. I don't know if he's dead or alive, or, or if he and his kid got eaten. Until we hear anything it's better to assume that one of his kids reformed out in the human world and that, well, . . . that Soviet's gone for good" Third bursted out, hiding his gaze as he tucked his hat down farther.

A moment of silence passed between the two. Now, Germany knew that Third and Russia's dad had a rocky relationship, both with human influence and conflicts between them. But once both of them understood that they could no longer shoot the other in the head or stab a knife through their back without them permanently being gone, they both gained a sort of friendly rivalry. Most of these now extinct and 'exciting' conflicts happened outside of Pangaea, so it became a waiting game between them on who would strike first. And more often than not they've had their moments of calm over a few rounds of beer or bottles of vodka. When they weren't dueling it out in the court room anyone none the wiser would have assumed they were friends.

Yes, the friendship between Germany and Russia had forced the two to at the very least tolerate each other, but they somehow managed. Speaking of, Germany felt a strike of fear at the thought of his long-time friend being the other country that was caught in this whole thing.

Second came back in, his eyes half-closed as he slumped towards his bedroom. Germany didn't try to stop him.

"Third. What lake did you go to? What side did it get out on?" He asked in a rush, an idea striking him like the sun beginning to strike the tallest trees.
