ricky and nini were both in the kitchen while ricky prepared the pastries, nini watching with a small smile as she saw how focused he was on his actions and muttering to himself.

"so, you don't ever use recipes when your baking or cooking?" nini asked the boy as she saw him do all this without any source of a cookbook or website around

ricky looked up as he mixed a bowl of batter and shook his head with small grin "nope. this is the only place where i don't use any sort of rules or schedules." he told her "apart from-you know, safety ones."

nini chuckled "can i help?"

he raised his eyebrows "you want to bake?"

"is it hard?" she asked confused, jumping off of the table and walking towards him

ricky shook his head "not if you know what you're doing," he said simply "but you have to get an apron and wash up."

nini nodded and put her thumbs up as she excitedly ran towards a cupboard to take a spare apron, stopping at the sink to wash her hands before taking it and putting it on.

"alright ratatouille ricky, what do we start with?" she asked happily

"okay, take these raisins and put them in the bowl here and read the scale. wait until it's at about five hundred hundred grams."

nini nodded determined as she took the bag of raisins and poured them in the bowl, reading the numbers on the scale as they went up and up until they stopped at exactly the number they were at.

"i did it!" she exclaimed

ricky smiled "thank you."

he took the bowl and placed it on the table, nini looking at him prepare a cooking tray with a sheet on top as he grabbed a handful of dough and molded it into a circle before placing it on the tray

"and do this with me. if you don't mind messing up your princess hands-"

nini playfully nudged him as he laughed, the girl shaking her head with a smile

"be quiet richard." she grinned as she took a handful of dough "the texture is weird."

"it's called dough." he replied with a shrug as he continued to shape the batter before placing another on the tray "so, i didn't know 'nini' was a posh girl name."

the brunette felt herself laugh again "why would i need a posh girl name exactly?"

"because you're a princess nini. catch up." he said with a sigh

nini shook her head with a smile "that's very stereotypical. and...a little true..."

ricky gave her an amused grin, causing for her to nudge him again as she sighed while he laughed

"okay, well, 'nini' is what aunt erica has called me ever since i was little. it's a nickname, i guess." she explained

"okay, so what's your real name? like...ninietta?" he asked confused

nini grimaced at the name "ninietta?"

"i don't know!" he exclaimed in defense "i've never met royalty."

"you've been working with royalty for years!" nini replied jokingly

"not knowingly."

nini sighed, the smile still lighting up her face as she shrugged her shoulders "my real name is 'nina'. boring old nina."

ricky looked at her "nina?"

nini nodded "it's so...weird."

but ricky shook his head at that "i don't know...i think it's a pretty name."
