nini giggled as she tried taking a handful of dough in her hands but ricky was blocking the bowl
"ricky!" she exclaimed with a laugh, trying to shove him out of the way
"you're supposed to add the berries onto the dough!" he sighed
"well i chose to change the lineup." she replied cheekily, grinning up at him while the boy only shook his head with a sigh
they both continued to prepare the pastries together before hearing the kitchen door swing open to reveal kevin
"hey lovebirds!" he exclaimed, focused on taking a tray of cake to head back out to put it on display
nini and ricky both blushed and just waved "hi!"
"where's aunt erica?" nini asked, realizing she hadn't greeted the woman since she came home from school an hour ago
"oh! right, erica went to the place the charity event's going to take place to get a look and estimate of how much food we're going to have to prepare," kevin explained
nini gasped "right! the charity event is next weekend!"
"yeah, think of the amount of food we're going to have to make," ricky jumped excitedly
nini shook her head with a light smile at his reaction before kevin just nodded
"yeah, so she'll be back soon, i guess." he shrugged before heading back out to the café while ricky and nini returned to their baking.
"so, are you excited then?" she asked happily "you get to showcase your food to people!"
"i already kind of do?" he chuckled, gesturing to the messy table they were working at
