that evening, nini came home with her heart racing and her mind occupied by the events of the afternoon.
she entered the apartment with her head down, still thinking deep by questions in her mind as she took a short breath.
"long day then?"
nini jumped in fear and snapped out of her thoughts to see erica seated on the couch in the living room
"oh! aunt erica," she exhaled deeply "you gave me a fright."
"i'm the only one who lives here with you," erica reminded her with a chuckle
nini nodded "right...i'll be headed to bed then. goodnight-"

"you didn't squeal and start telling me about everything you did and saw today. what's up?"
