Chapter 34

23 1 1

Note: This part takes place a few days later.

    Marinette's POV:

I know for sure I mailed it off.

I had no idea how long it would take to reach him.

     I did not care.

It was time to start a new chapter in my life. Correction, our lives I thought as I remembered the little one in my womb.  Yes, that is right.

I   had not gone to the chat since that day in which Chat Noir called me pretty.

     I knew it was silly.

I was embarrassed by his flirty, yet kind words.

   My phone rang just then.

   "Hello?"

I was glad it was my best friend, Alya on the other end.

I listened to her talk about Chat Noir like he was the icing on a cake or something.

"Alya, how do I know he is not a jerk in disguise?"

"Girl, just give him a chance."

"I gave Luka  multiple chances and look at where that got us now."

"Marinette, just trust me on this."

"Fine, I just hope I won't live to regret this too someday."

"Got to go, girl, Nino and I have some things to pick out for our wedding! bye!"

       "Okay, have fun, Alya!  Bye!"

As I hung up the phone, I shook my head.

I  did find myself, with my computer turned on once more.

I clicked on the chat room.

I saw that Chat Noir was not there.

Great, he has already bailed on me.

    "Chat you there?"

I do not know why I said this knowing very well he was not.

A few moments later I got a ding, then the message, "Sorry, I had to step out for a business meeting at work. The coffee maker quit working and somehow I got nominated to purchase a new one. The line at the store was long.  Anyway, I am just back in the office now. I saw I had a message from a ladybug."

"Whoa, sounds like you had a rough day."

"Yes, it was.  how are you?"

"To be honest, I have been better. What about you?"

"Same here. I used to go out with this girl who I thought adored me, but found out she cheated on me."

"Whoa, that stinks. I know how that feels. Sorry."

"Do not be sorry. It is not your fault."

"Well, then, you need not be sorry on my account then either, Chat Noir."

"Is it just me or did Monkey, and Bunny leave the chat for good?"

    "I have no idea."

  "Does it matter?"

"As long as I have you to talk to m' lady then nothing else matters."

I sat there with tears of joy in my eyes.

I could not help it.

Chat Noir called me his lady.

It had been years since I was seen as being someone's lady.

"Ladybug, you there?"

  "Yes, I'm just so happy."

"I'm happy to have met you too."

"Do you have  a job, Miss Ladybug?"

  "No, but I ..."

I thought no, I can not tell him about the baby yet.

That is too soon to bring that up for Chat.

  I sighed.

I knew someday, I would need to tell him.

I hated lies.

"But what?"

"Oh, never mind. I will tell you later."

"Okay.  Are you sure you are a lady?"

"Yes, are you sure you are a man?"

  "Ouch!  Yes, m'lady. "

   "Good."

"Chat, I will be right back."

"Okay, I will stay here."

 I  went to the door.

I  opened it to see who knocked.

I was about to shut it back when I saw a bag.

I picked it up and brought it inside.

I  looked inside the bag and saw breadsticks, a small side salad, croutons, a packet of ranch dressing, a small plastic fork, a napkin, and a platter with eggplant parmesan (my absolute favorite, though I have eaten it in years), and a few breaded mozzarella cheese sticks.

Yum, it will make a nice meal.

I put the stuff in the refrigerator to reheat later.

All except for the salad, I opened the lid, took out the croutons, put them on the salad, opened the ranch, and poured it on it.

I ate the food in sheer happiness.

"M'lady?"

My laptop lit up as the message from Chat showed up.

"Sorry, I had to get the door. Someone anonymously left me food from Olive Garden."

"Olive Garden, wow they have the best breadsticks!"

"I suppose you are right about that Chat. Right, now I am eating a side salad. The breadsticks, cheese sticks, and eggplant parmesan are in the refrigerator now."

"Did you order that to be delivered?"

"No, I have not enough money for that kind of thing."

  "Then, who sent it?"

  "I honestly have no idea."

*Author's note:  Little did she know that Chat Noir as Adrien went by in the chat room, called Olive Garden and ordered two separate things from them. Little does she know he paid for both orders and had one sent to his place and the other to her.  He was not sure why he did this. He just thought it might cheer her up some.

"Well, whoever did it was so thoughtful!"

   "Yeah, they sure were."

" Eggplant Parmesan is my favorite, you know."

    "I had no idea."
