Every year since the war began the Jedi are expected to receive a medical examination to make sure they are healthy to fight. My examination was supposed to be a few weeks ago but with the chaos of Master Nadirs death and her funeral as well as getting a new Master the topic was long forgotten, or so I had hoped.

"Lyra, you have to have a medical examination" Obi Wan explained to me as I had been avoiding the topic for a while now.

"But-"

"No, I have gotten you an appointment with Kix in ten minutes and Captain Rex will be escorting you" he stated calmly. "Please don't give the medic a hard time"

"I won't" I grumbled seeing Rex walking towards us.

"General, Commander" he saluted to the both of us.

"Looks like it's time for you to go" Obi Wan sent me a comforting smile as he pat my shoulder. "You'll be alright"

"Yes, Master" I sighed, leading the way.

"I'd go after her if I were you, she might try to run off" Kenobi warned with a joking tone, urging Rex to rush down the hall and catch up to me. The rest of the walk was silent, the only sound coming from people walking nearby or our footsteps beneath us. Reaching the medical center the two of us took seats outside of Kixs examination room while we waited for him.

"Are you alright?" Rex questioned, taking note of how I fiddled with my robes with nerves.

"No!" I snapped back.

"What's wrong, it's just a routine check up?"

"I know, but I'm just nervous."

"Commander Jayko, I'm ready for you" Kix poked his head into the hallway and called me into the room. "Take a seat on the bed" he prompted while he gathered his tools for the basic evaluation. I followed his instructions and took a seat on the cot, eyes darting around the room.

"Take it easy on her" Rex told his medic in a hushed tone, their backs to me as Kix picked up the data pad to fill in my health information.

"What? Why?" The medic was confused for his orders from the Captain.

"Because she's nervous enough and I know how you can be with the men"

"Let's get started" he pulled out a stethoscope to check my breathing and heartbeat. After checking a few other basic things such as my reflexes he walked back over to his desk. "Now time for your vaccination" he pulled out a needle as my face was drained of colour. "I'll need you to take off your sleeve" he nodded to the flowing fabric along my right arm.

"Commander?" Rex questioned at the sight of my pale face. Panic had set in and I force pushed them both back into the wall before moving to make my escape.

"For the love of...." Kix trailed as he set his blaster to stun, aiming it at me from his kneeling position of where he had been dropped to the floor. He stunned me just in time for Rex to catch my limp body, having jumped up as soon as he had fallen.

"What was that for?" The Captain snapped at Kix, holding my limp body in his arms.

"It's the only way she would sit still for this" he shrugged in response, clearly calm over the situation.

"I told you to take it easy on her" Rex had moved me to lay down on the bed again.

"We're you going to hold her down long enough for me to give her the vaccine?" Kix had got it ready and stuck my arm with the needle. "See, all done"

"Yeah, and now the commander is stunned"

"She'll wake up soon" Kix started packing up his gear. "Just take her back to the temple or something" the medic waved off his captain. Rex looked to my sleeping form on the cot and scooped me into his arms before marching out towards the temple I had grown up in.
