The terrorist was declared dead in the encounter.
Everything went too slow. It felt like minutes were taking hours to pass. Kavya was taken to Chandigarh hospital with her team, brother and fiance.
Gurshy was crying and seeing him crying Roohjas and Manpreet also started to cry. Mayank was standing shocked he doesn't know how to respond. He is feeling numb. He wants to scream and cry for her but he can't. His eyes are dry. He is standing there numb in front of OT, but as soon as he saw his love of life fighting for her life all the emotions start to overwhelm his. The reality hit him with bricks and he started to break down.
He cried, he finally cried. He never thought he can love someone so much. He started to fell suffocated so he went out of hospital for fresh air.
His phone was blaring with messages and calls from both the families.
In Delhi,
Everyone was at Singh mansion as the news spread as wild fire. Everyone knew about the encounter and how their Major General of Indian Army was shot on her chest. The family was shocked especially her parents. They feared that they will loose thier daughter because it's the first time in her entire career that so much news has been spread.
Everyone reached chandigarh hospital from Delhi.
Jasvinder was crying and Kaveri was consoling her. Mankirat was enveloped in a tight hug by Ram and he was rubbing his back while consoling him.
Both the brothers were consoling Mayank and their wives. The kids were with Kabir and her teammates.
After a long surgery of 10 hours, doctors came out of the operation theatre.
"How is my daughter doctor?"
"The surgery is was successful. The bullet just missed the main artery but did a good damage to her lungs. We have induced her in coma and it will take time for her to recover, we don't know how long she will take to wake up but we have kept her in 24 hours supervision so that we can see how she responds to the medication. Let's hope for the best." Saying this the doctor was about to leave when Manav asked
"Can we meet her?"
"Yes you can but one person at a time." After this he left.
Her mother was the first one to see her. After seeing her daughter attached to all those machines and pipes she sobbed. Kavya looked pale, her lips were chapped and there she was lying with machines for her life support. Within a few minutes only her mother came back because she can't see her daughter like this. Then her father went in. He was not in a state to say anything. He was shocked but deep down he was very proud of his daughter. He knew she is battling for he life and he knew she never looses so he just said a few words in her ear
"Mainu tere te bhot garav hai puttar!" And left her room.
(I am proud of you my child)
Even her brother said the same words to her with a sad smile on his face. Her nieces and nephew were brought to the hospital because they went cranky when they saw their bua and chachi they said
"Get well soon bua/chachi" and kissed her cheeks one by one and went to their mothers. Those kids are very mature for their age. They understand how their bua/ chachi saved India from bad people and now is resting.
Ar last Mayank went to see her. He held her cold hand in his warm ones. He kissed the back of her hand where their engagement ring was. Then her forehead.
"I always wanted to protect to mi amore but I failed to do so, I know it was your duty to save the nation but I was there too I got a few seconds late and he fired the bullet towards you. I just wished to keep you in my arms forever and hide from the cruel world, but I failed jaan I failed. I am so sorry that I failed you. Sorry jaan. Please wake up for your family, my family, the kids and me jaan and me."
Then he sang her favourite song for her.

After he ended the song he kissed her forehead once again and kept his head near her hand. Held her hand in his own and slept.
