Chapter 18: Secrets shall remain

On the way back to the mansion, Janet didn't utter a word to Daniel, nor did she spare him a glance.

'stupid bastard' she couldn't help think. her face had calmed down and she was no longer the copy of a tomato, but her chest couldn't help but pump faster than usual.

"welcome back, young master, Miss."

janet walked passed the servants and went straight back to her room without giving anyone a chance to stop her. Daniel slowly walked into the mansion behind her, and watched as she stormed back to her room.

The Villainess couldn't help but slam the door a bit when she returned to her room, Seeing Daniel made her slightly conscious of what happened just a bit before.

with a slight confusion of what happened today, Janet fell forwards and laid on the bed trying to forget, which with luck, actually worked. Not long after, her eyes started to feel dreary and she fell into slumber.

On the other side of the mansion, Daniel who was on his way back to his room, coincidentally came across Monica in her night gown holding a hot water bottle.

"Hi.." she managed to mumble.

Unlike Janet, Monica is like an open book to Daniel, though she tried to hide her emotions, she was failing quite badly. Since day one, Monica was a hot tempered, open and revealing girl, so much that Daniel didn't have his guard up with her, it also happened that he see's her as a younger sister of some sort.

"Stomach problems?" Daniel asked

"Huh? er...yeah, how did you know?"

"Well, you're using a hot water bottle so I guessed."

"Erm, yeah, I'm just having indigestion and I can't sleep."

'Just like she used to have...' Daniel thought.        (author: hohoho, who do you think it is?)

"Try ginger soup"            (author: This is bull, made some random shit up)

"Sure...." She turned her face while replying to him, she wasn't prepared for a response like that. 'Don't act like you care' she says inwardly. But in reality, she couldn't help but be slightly happy, her cheeks turned slightly pink and she could feel the heat coming in.

Daniel walked closer to Monica, and just as she turned her head back around, Daniel put the back of his hand on Monicas cheek.

"You're warming up, do you have a fever? or is it the bottle?"

Monica suddenly realising what happened, smacked his hand away and jumped back.

"I'm Fine! L-Leave me alone. I'm going!" She sprinted off without giving Daniel a repose chance and couldn't help but try to hid her face with one hand. 'H-He's sly...'

Daniel, still standing there and being left looked down at the hand that was smacked away and sighed.

"I'm getting the sense of deja vu all of a sudden"

as he walked back into his room, he sees Charlie sitting on his bed with a laptop on his lap.

"brother Daniel, you're back." he smiled

Charlie had started calling Daniel brother not too long ago, at first he declined it but Charlie insisted. for Daniel, Charlie is weird, he seems to like interacting with people and is very intrigued with the concept of family.

"Er yeah, I'm going to take a shower first."

"sure"

back in Janets room, Chelsea had walked in on her Miss lying face down on the bed, still in her lovely pink dress. "oh dear"
