"Your grandfather called last night and told me to let you know he's bringing you both back something very special from Prague" Emily tells her granddaughters as the Gilmore family minus Richard are at their Friday night dinner.

"Wow, Prague. How amazing is it that he's going to Prague" Rory says. "It's supposed to be lovely, very dramatic, castles everywhere" Emily replies.

"You know that the cell that Vaclav Havel was held in is now a hostel, you can stay there for like $50 a night" Victoria says. "Hey, maybe on our big trip to Europe we could go to Prague and stay in his cell" Rory suggests. "Absolutely, and then we should go to Turkey and stay in that place from Midnight Express" Lorelai says messing with her food.

"Lorelai, what are you doing?" Emily asks.

"Getting rid of the avocado" Lorelai answers. "Since when do you not like avocado?" her mother asks.

"Since the day I said gross what is this and you said avocado" she replies. "I'm focusing on you now" Emily says turning back to her granddaughters. "Tell me all about the Chilton formal next week" she says.

"There's a formal?" Lorelai asks.

"How do you know about the formal?" Rory asks her grandmother. "Yeah, how do you know about the formal?" Lorelai repeats.

"I read my Chilton newsletter" Emily answers. "Since when do you get a Chilton Newsletter?" Lorelai asks. "Well, as a major contributor to the girls education I figured I had the right to ask for a newsletter to be sent to my house" Emily replies.

"Are you serious?" Lorelai questions.

"And it's a good thing too, since you don't bother read yours. One of us should be up to date on the goings on or their school" Emily says. "Hey mom, I read my newsletter" Lorelai lies.

"You did?" Emily asks. "That's right" Lorelai says. "What was the picture on the cover?" Emily asks knowing her daughters lying.

"It was a picture of a really rich kid in plaid" Lorelai guesses.

"It was a spotted owl" Emily corrects her. "In plaid" Lorelai says.

"The owls are endangered and Chilton is taking donations to her them, you gave a very nice one in case you're interested" Emily says pointing towards her granddaughters. "Mom, don't give donations on their behalf. I'll do that" Lorelai says. "How can you do that when you don't read the newsletter?" Emily asks.

"I read the newsletter" Lorelai lies again.

"You didn't know they were taking donations" Emily says. "It's a private school, they're always taking donations. They teach a class in it, I'll get them next time" Lorelai replies.

"Well what about the owls?" Emily asks. "They'll live" Lorelai answers. "Well apparently they won't dear, that's why they needed the donations in the first place" Emily responds.

"So you have a formal coming up?" Lorelai asks her daughters.

"Yeah, but I don't think I'm gonna go" Rory answers. "Nonsense, of course you're going" Emily tells them.

"Mom, if she doesn't want to go they don't have to go" Lorelai says. "Well I don't under why she wouldn't wanna go" Emily replies. "I know you don't" Lorelai says.

"You're going right? You already have a boyfriend at that school there's no reasons for you not to go"Emily says turning to Victoria.

"Wait, who told you I had a boyfriend?" Victoria asks. "Your grandfather told me he saw you talking to Tristan Dugray at your birthday party" Emily answers.

"That was just friendly talking" Victoria says. "Mm-hmm I'm sure it was, that explains why I saw the two of you kiss in the backyard" Emily sarcastically says.
"You saw that?" Victoria asks.
