"No" Victoria tells her mother.

"Oh come on, it'll be fun. It can be a mother daughter bonding thing" Lorelai says. "Then why doesn't Rory have to do it?" Victoria asks her.

"Because there's no way Dean's going to do a dance marathon with her. One occasional dance per special event maybe, but not for multiple hours straight while exhausted" Lorelai answers. "Mom-" Victoria starts. "Just ask Tristan. If he calls you crazy and says it's a terrible idea then fine I'll drop it, but I think it'll be fun" Lorelai cuts her off.

"Fine" Victoria sighs giving in.

"Fine?" Lorelai asks excited. "I'll ask him at school in tomorrow, but dancing that long while being that tired is miserable, not fun" Victoria replies.

"Oh don't worry I don't want you to participate the entire time, if you do then you beat me and I need to win. I just think it'll be fun for us to get all dressed up and have some fun" Lorelai tells her.

"So, there's an idea I need to run pass you" Victoria says sitting in the back of class next to Tristan.

"Uh oh, you look nervous" he replies. "Not nervous, just not sure what I want your answer to be" Victoria says.

"What is it?" Tristan asks her. "So, you know my mom?" Victoria starts. "Yes, I do" Tristan responds.

"And you know Taylor?" Victoria continues.

"One of my biggest fascinations" Tristan nods. "Well, when one of them get into something they really get into it and I mean you've seen some of Taylor's crazy ideas but his craziest is the dance marathon. The dance marathon starts very very early in the morning and you just keep dancing for hours and hours until you're exhausted and in pain and physically can't continue and for whatever reason my mom finds that fun and on top of that she won't stop bugging me sign up but for that I need a partner and that's where you come in" Victoria explains.

"Alright, let's do it" Tristan replies. "What?" Victoria asks. "Let's do it. It should be entertaining" Tristan says.

"Wow, I can't tell if this makes me love you more or less" Victoria tells him.

"What?" Tristan asks. "The fact that you're open to my town and family's craziness is amazing but that also means I can't use you as an excuse to get out of it" Victoria answers.

"Well?" Victoria asks sitting on the couch between Rory and Tristan.

"Still ringing. He's home" Lane answers. "How'd he sound?" Rory asks her.

"Homey" Lane replies. "Nice" Tristan nods. "I know this is a stupid question, but why can't you just talk to him?" Dean asks.

"Because yesterday he called to say that they were still looking for a rehearsals space and that he'd call when he had more news, so now I have to wait until he calls about the band, and in between I call and hang up on him" Lane explains.

"But-" Dean starts. "Don't even try, it's easier just to let them follow their own logic" Tristan cuts him off.

"I'm pathetic" Lane sighs. "No you're not" Victoria comforts her. "Yeah, I used to hang up on Dean all the time" Rory says.

"You did?" Dean asks.

"I remember that" Victoria nods. "When did you hand you on me?" Dean asks his girlfriend.

"When we first met" she answers. "You should have just said something" Dean says. "I couldn't" Rory tells him.

"Why not?" Dean asks her.
