dave waited until he heard some type of voice or noise to confirm it was actually narnia that called him.

"dave." narnia spoke after what seemed like forever.

what happened?

narnia hesitated, a lump forming in her throat.  she had no idea what to say.

um. . . i went to see my father.

why you gotta lie to me?

what do you mean?

you know that's not the truth, if it was, you would've told me.

i'm not obligated to tell you if i'm going to see my father or not.

true, however,  you would've still answer my calls or texts.

narnia had no reply to this, knowing he was right. she stayed silent.

why can't you trust me?

i do.

then tell me what happened.

i can't, dave! it's too. . . complicated.

. . . let me see you.

not right now.

why not? that's too complicated too huh?

dave—

nah, it's cool man, i'll hit you up later.

dave hung up before narnia could say anything else.

she held the phone to her ear for a moment, before slowly dropping her hand in her lap.

thinking of everything that happened to her as well as dave being upset at her for not opening up to him, has made her feel overwhelmed with emotion causing unwilling tears to abrupt into her soulless eyes.

she felt the need to scream and lash out, but her energy was so drained, she couldn't do anything but sleep, to escape the physical and emotional pain.

just for the moment.

her slumber lasted three hours.

when she woke up, she still felt tired  — but she had no desire to go back to sleep.
