dave pulled back from narnia's lips, staring directly into her eyes.
narnia was recovering, controlling her heavy breathing."why do you do that?" narnia questioned.
"do what, ma?" dave asked, playing with her blonde hair.
"make me feel this way, and tell me we're just friends?" narnia catechized.
"we're more than friends, you know what we got."narnia furrowed her eyebrows, pulling back from him. "what does that mean?"
"nia," dave started.
"no, don't 'nia' me. why do you make me feel a way, and then tell me we're just close?" narnia repeated her question.dave stared at her, unable to answer her question.
narnia tilted her head, waiting impatiently for an answer.
"that's just what it has to be for right now." dave finally spoke.narnia scoffed, pushing him off her, as she cautiously stepped off the bed.
dave grabbed her arm, being careful not to squeeze too hard.
"get off of me, dave." narnia retorted, shrugging him off."look narnia, it's just some things you don't understand right now."
"i don't care. do you think i haven't seen all of this before? how many guys reel girls in, treat them a special way at first, then turn around and do them in malicious way? please, i'll take my leave." narnia ranted as she grabbed everything she knew was hers, nothing that dave had bought her.
dave chuckled, "nia, whatchu doing, girl?"
"what does it look like i'm doing, dave?" narnia spoke with much attitude, stuffing the little that she had in her bag.
"narnia," dave called out, finally realizing she was being serious. "narnia, you telling me you about to take your things and leave out in an unknown city with no money, no car, no shelter?"
narnia continued to get ready, ignoring dave's mouth.
shaking her head, she thought about how stupid she was for believing dave would actually be into her, would actually want to be more with her. now she was in a city she had little to no information about. but she will find her way, injured and all - she hadn't survived her mother all her seventeen years for nothing."narnia!" dave raised his voice.
narnia slipped her small bag around her shoulder and walked out of his room.
dave followed behind her, matching her pace.narnia wasn't focused on dave following her but on how she was going to get around an unknown city without any transportation, little money, and minimal shelter.
narnia was inching towards the front door, but before she could reach the doorknob - dave stepped in front of her, stopping any further movements.
narnia craned her neck to look up at him, with a twist of irritation plastered on her face. "move out of my way, dave."
dave was taken aback by her sudden rudeness. "mama," dave spoke, however, was interrupted by narnia.
"don't call me that. what do you want? hurry up, i need to go." narnia stated, her serious eyes fixated on his nonchalant ones.
"i told you what it was. why are you walking out?" dave ignored her attitude.
"yes, you told me what it was, and i don't appreciate it - at all. so, therefore, i'm leaving. got it?" narnia enunciated.
"that's what you gon' do?" dave asked, tilting his head and furrowing his eyebrows - his eyes dipped, and no expression could be read on his face.
without a word, narnia nodded her head, insinuating her decision.
"aight, you do that then." dave lazily pointed behind him towards the door, all but nothing - wanting narnia to go back into his room and sleep off her anger like she always did.
however, this time was different. and dave knew it. he couldn't blame narnia for feeling how she did. he didn't give her much to go on, but a stupid explanation almost every lame guy told a woman.
narnia did the exact opposite of what he wanted her to do, instead of rolling her eyes and walking back to his room - without talking to him for a whole day. narnia strutted past dave and he turned to see her out.
she unlocked the locks on the door and twisted the doorknob open. narnia paused for a moment, and dave's heart skipped.
maybe she did have a change of heart. right? dave had thought, he hoped.
but narnia didn't even give him the satisfaction of her looking back.
opening the door, the morning sun beamed through the crack onto dave's despondent face.dave fought back the urge to grab narnia, hug her, tell her to come back, to explain everything.
his urges won.
as he was getting ready to open his mouth, as quickly as the door opened - it closed.dave stood in front of the doorway, alone.
