Chapter 19

Ian's POV

I was about to call a cab from the airport when my phone rang. I looked at the dispaly and couldn't help but smile.

Nikki.

"Hey" I answered the phone sheepishly.

"Hey it's me" she said "I just wanted to tell you that I decided to take an earlier plane and I'm at the airport now. I will be home in about 30 minutes. Can we meet there and talk?" she asked.

"I'm actually at the airport too. We could meet here..at the starbucks?" I suggested.

"Why are you at the airport?" Nikki asked sceptically.

"I visited Jules last week but I can tell you when we meet. At the starbucks?" I I asked again.

"Yeah. I'll be there in 5 minutes." she said hanging up.

I could feel my heartbeat get faster when I made my way to the starbucks. To say that I was nervous would be an understatement.

I reached the starbucks and waited in front of the door. When I was about to call Nikki and ask her where she was I saw her.

She was wearing black shorts that showed her beautiful tanned legs and a white shirt. She smiled sheepishly as she walked towards me. She was beautiful.

I couldn't help but grab her arms and pull her into a tight hug when she was standing in frot of me.

"I missed you" I whispered into her ear.

After a few seconds she responded the hug and I sighed in relief.

"You look gorgeous" I said when I pulled back.

"Thank you." She said smiling.
"I'm actually a bit tired..can we just drive home?" she asked me and I nodded.

"Sure." I started walking. All I could think about was whether it would be okay for Nikki if I took her hand or not.

I decided not to push things and to speak up instead.

"You probably want to talk about this when we're at home but it's driving me crazy not to know how things are between us. So..are we fine?" I asked terribly afraid of her answer.

She stopped walking and I looked at her. I could see that she was fighting her tears back and my heart ached. Please not...I thought.

To my surprise Nikki nodded. "We are fine. I need you in my life. Just please Ian..don't ever do that again" she whispered tears floating down her cheeks.

It broke my heart to see how much I hurt her and all I could do for now was comforting her. I hugged her and rubbed her back. "I promise Nikki I won't ever hurt you like that again."

Nikki pulled back and smiled at me.

"I missed you too." she said.

I kissed her forehead and took her hand.

"We just shouldn't be apart." I said and started walking.

Ian's POV

Nikki really seemed to be tired. She fell asleep in the cab and I watched her sleeping the whole time even if this sounded like I'm some sort of creep.

"Hey we're here" I whispered poking Nikki's shoulder.

"Hmm" she groaned not opening her eyes.

"Nikki come on we have to get out of the car." I smiled at how adorable she looked.

When she realized that she was still in a cab she shot up and got out of the car.

I chuckeled and payed the driver.

He got out of the car with me and helped me with our luggage.

"I can take it from here on, thanks man" I said when he had pulled all bags out of the car.

Nikki wanted to carry her bags herself but I didn't let her.

"Ian I'm strong enough, believe me." She said in an annoyed tone.

"I know but only because you can doesn't mean you have to. Go inside and get some rest sleepyhead." I smiled at her. There was no way I would let Nikki carry her bags herself.

"Okay" she agreed and kissed my cheek. "Thanks then."

I smiled and started to carry the bags to the apartment when my phone rang.

Nina.

No not now..I thought. This was seriously not the best time for her to call but I felt guilty for sleeping with her so I picked up the phone.

"Hey" I said.

"Ian hey it's me." she answered. "I'm sorry that I ignored your last calls but I just needed some time for myself." she explained.

"Yeah I understand that. Listen Nina I'm so sorry for what happened that night." I said and remembered what Paul told me. "Nina if you still have feelings for me then..."

"Don't Ian" she interrupted me. "It's okay. I just wanted to tell you that we can't change what happened that night and I'm okay with it."

"Yes only that I just got along with Nikki and it's probably not the best thing if we are talking too much. I don't want to loose her again." I tried to explain myself.

"Oh" she sounded hurt. "Yeah sure it's probably the best thing for me too. So we will just see each other on set then ok?" I could hear that she didn't want to talk to me anymore.

"Yeah but Nina listen I didn't mean to..."

Beep Beep. She hung up.

This didn't went so well.

I sighed and started to carry the bags that were left.
