I exit my room in slight embarrassment at what George just witnessed. I keep my shirt off, for the sake of my fried skin, and make my way into the living room where Sapnap and George are eating and talking.
They haven't noticed me yet.
"I want you to tell him," Sapnap is saying.
"I don't know," George mumbles. "I think I need some more time."
"Well, you only have so much. His birthday is in 3 days and we are leaving 5 days after that. That may seem like a lot of time, but it's not."
"I know, I know," George starts, before noticing me walking up behind the couch. "Dream."
"What are you guys talking about?" I ask slowly.
"You," Sapnap says with a smirk.
"Oh? What about me?"
I notice the flush on George's freckled cheeks.
"Your abs." Sapnap adds. "Are you really gonna walk around shirtless all day?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Is that going to be a problem? It's really uncomfortable to wear a shirt right now. You know," I vaguely gesture to my sunburnt shoulders.
George doesn't look at me when he says, "It's probably fine. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."
"Right..."
Sapnap looks between the two of us. "Okay...? What's wrong?"
"What?" George asks as I say, "Nothing."
Sapnap lets out a dry laugh. "No. You guys are being weird."
"No, you're being weird," I retort.
Sapnap rolls his eyes at me. "Ever since you went to the store you guys have been acting weird." His eyes move between George and I as we look at him in slight annoyance, George in confusion. And then Sapnap's eyes go wide. "Oh my gosh, did you guys like, get together?"
I raise an eyebrow and George punches Sapnap's arm. "No, shut up."
Sapnap blocks his punch and stares at George. "No, I mean, like, in bed...?"
My shoulders drop at his bluntness. "Sapnap!" I yell as George continues to barrage him in angry punches. My face heats up in embarrassment as he continues.
"How else would you explain the sexual tension in the room right now," Sapnap says in between hits.
"Sapnap, shut up," I urge as I try to calm down, as to not shrink.
George finally looks my way, at my words. His eyes swipe across the blush on my features, and I catch the dust of pink on his pale cheeks. His punches stop and he quickly grabs my wrist before I can turn away.
"George," I mutter with terrified eyes. I gesture at Sapnap with my head as his laughter dies down.
"Dream." His voice is calm. I shake my head violently. I can tell he wants me to show Sapnap my curse, but I don't feel ready.
"What?" Sapnap asks as George and I silently argue.
"Nothing," I say quickly and I violently pull my wrist from George's grasp. I turn to head in the direction of my bedroom, for privacy.
I hear George scrambling behind me and he calls, "Dream wait!"
I continue my march down the hall and swing my door shut, only for it to get caught by George's foot.
"George, please?" I beg, and I hold the door closed behind me. "Not right now."
My blush has ebbed away, but I feel vulnerable, like at any moment I could shift uncontrollably and reveal myself. I catch Sapnap's confused face behind George in the crack of my door.
