Falling For You

Annabeth POV

The next day at school, Percy didn't show up. 

"Where's Percy?" I asked Thalia. 

Thalia shrugged. "I don't know. Probably hanging out with one of his many admirers."

"Don't be rude." 

"I'm not!" 

"I'm going to ask Jason. You don't have to come," I said. 

"Of course I'm coming!" Thalia said, running to catch up with me. 

 It didn't take long to find them. Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, Grover, and Rachel were all standing around, looking at their phones. 

"Hey guys!" I said, cheerfully. 

"Oh. Hey Annabeth," Piper said. 

"What's wrong?" I asked. 

"Percy didn't show up today and he's not responding to any of our texts," Jason explained. "Have you talked to him?"

I shook my head. "Not since yesterday."

"Do you think he's sick?" Thalia asked. 

"Probably. He was sick yesterday." Frank said. 

"Yes!" Thalia muttered under her breath. 

I elbowed her. "Don't be so rude." 

"I'm not! He's just here all the time!" Thalia said. 

"Whatever," I dismissed. 

"Why don't you text him to see how he's doing?" Rachel suggested.

I backed away. "Oh no. No no no no no! He... probably wouldn't want to hear from me." 

Jason frowned. "Why's that?" 

"Uh... let's just say we might have gotten off to a rough start? I said some things I probably shouldn't have said?" I said, the statement sounding like a question. 

"And what's that?" Leo asked, eagerly. 

"Nothing." I said. 

"Really?" 

"Yes." 

"Are you sure?" Leo asked. 

"Ugh. Maybe I said that I didn't want to be anywhere near him and his nonsense? And maybe I said that I didn't want to see his face ever again? And maybe he kinda got mad at me?" I said. 

My friends groaned. "Just try!" 

I groaned. "Fine." 

I pulled out my phone and before I could ask him, a drama queen flounced over with her little pack of minions and shouted, "Where's my boyfriend?" 

"Here we go again," I heard Jason mutter under his breath. 

"How are we supposed to know where your boyfriend is?" I asked. 

"Cause you guys are friends with him!" she shouted. 

"So?" I asked.

"So you should know where he is!" 

Piper came over and flipped her hair sassily, "Well, since you are his boyfriend, you should know where he is. Unless he dumped you.... well you know, you can never ask for too much!"
