A lazy Sunday morning.
I woke up to the sound of utensils clinging in the kitchen as I rolled off the couch, falling on the floor.
"Are you up, Areum?" Ayeong called out from the kitchen.
"Hmm." I responded, squinting my eyes from the sunlight directly falling onto my face, "What are you doing?"
"I'm- making us some lunch." She casually stated as I dragged myself in.
"Oh, you- didn't have to go buy all this." I said, looking around the counter which had vegetables and groceries on display like a supermarket.
"I didn't. Jungkook did. He dropped by in the morning. I'd woken up because of all the noise, only to find him setting up your fridge." She gestured her eyes to the right, pointing at the empty bags on the side counter, "There's a lot of instant food items though."
"Ohh..." My mind wasn't registering. I thought he'd forgotten it. It had been over three days since the sudden dinner.
"So, are you two- like dating or something? He had the keys? And brought you groceries?" She questioned.
I was in a fix, now how do I cover that up- "Uhh, I don't know how to put this but- it's not like that. I mean- I know around some six other people of his friend circle. And a few days back, three of them suddenly showed up for dinner. Jungkook saw how empty my kitchen was- and offered to bring some items-" I had to drop information subtly, just in case.
"Oh, so isn't it like dating?" She asked, carefully tossing the food into two plates.
"No... I don't know to explain-"
"Do you think he likes you?" She continued her questionnaire as we walked into the living room.
"I- I don't understand all that. But I did overhear his friends teasing him about having a soft spot for me." I told her.
"Ohh, that's nice. What about you? Do you like him? I'm curious about how he came in as a savior the previous night too."
I didn't know how to word my feelings. Specially after the previous night, I think I had a change of heart. It was pretty obvious that those seven men were not normal. They had a different energy as compared to any other being I had ever met. But-
"What are you thinking again?" She interrupted my thoughts, "You can tell me."
"It's like- I hardly known him- okay? But I feel close to him. Like he has a huge role to play in my life or something. Though- I don't know if it's correct to already have feelings for someone I know soo little about." I tried to explain. On top of all that, he was the mastermind for plotting robberies which is a crime.
"Give it some time maybe? It sounds like you both like each other. Also, he wrote you a note, it's on the kitchen counter, I haven't touched it." She raised both her hands up, palms facing me.
"Oh, did he?" I stood up from my seat and walked towards the counter.
"Yeh, how cute. He could have just sent a text instead. Old school!" She giggled.
I picked the neatly folded sheet of paper which was tucked below a cup of instant noodles.
Areum,
I'm sorry, I barged into your house without permission, again. I didn't want to wake you up.I would have dropped these two days back, but a very close loved one of mine is falling sick- and I'm worried. All of us were taking care of him.
The heist is tonight. I won't be able to see you until tomorrow. But, after that- can you come with me to a place I want to take you? It's important.
