Hands clenched tight,
Head throbbing loudly,
Saliva filling my mouth,
Red covering my vision
**
Control is slowly slipping,
Nothing I can do.
I lean my head back,
Pray for one more minute
Of control so I can leave.
**
Why can't you just shut the fuck up?!
Just stop talking!
Every word chips at my control,
Sending me closer to that deadly abyss
**
I fight the urge to hit you,
Visions of blood tempting me.
Anything to stop the endless flow
Of words pouring out of your mouth.
**
My patience is long gone,
My nerves lay in painful shreds.
Only the thought crashing this car
Is keeping me from giving in to the rage.
**
I glare at the ceiling fighting for control,
thoughts circling my mind like clouds,
Blocking out everything but the throb
Of my head, all of my pent up anger.
**
And still you go on and on, your
voice like sandpaper on my nerves.
I curl my fist tighter, until it might break,
Tempted to break your jaw.
**
I almost give in to the urge,
I begin to draw my fist back,
But we finally pull into the driveway.
I'm finally free, away from your voice.
