The aircon made a vibrating noise as it was set on full blast to contend with the sunny heat outside. You were in your dormitories, along with Zelda and Lana. Zelda was on the couch watching a movie on her laptop while, you sat cross-legged on the ground reading a book and Lana hung off the bed, scrolling mindlessly through her phone. It was one in the hot afternoon and you all just wanted to laze in your room and chill.

"So (Y/N), I noticed that you've been more friendly with Link this week." Lana said in a suggestive tone.

"Yeah, well, I guess I've made a new friend. Well, friends. Including Linkle and Dark." You replied innocently, not detecting the hint of her message.

"Oh no, (Y/N) is gonna abandon us, isn't she?" Zelda muttered, deflated.

You immediately felt flustered and affected with Zelda's statement. You were a bit saddened by the fact that Zelda would assume you'd do such a thing to them.

"She'd probably do it for Link." Lana said in a joking tone.

"WHAT!? No I won't. You guys know Link is just a friend and you both mean the world to me." You explained wholeheartedly, feeling offended.

Lana and Zelda were briefly silent, before they both exploded in laughter. "Aww, (Y/N) chill, we're just teasing you! We're joking... We care for you a lot too!" Lana said while wiping the tears forming in the corners of her eyes from laughter. Suddenly, Lana became serious and looked you in the eye and said, "But, I predict that there will be a shift coming in your world."

"Woah, I didn't know you're an oracle now, Lana!" Zelda exclaimed, playing along with Lana's antics.

"What are you trying to imply, Lana?" You asked inquisitively, before her insinuation clicked on your mind and your eyebrows furrowed in annoyance. "Wait, don't even respond. Is this about Link, again? You know we're simply friends, right?"

"Yes, I am well acquainted with that fact, yes." Lana said as if she was a wise, old sage.

"Why do you ship us both so much?" You asked Lana seriously.

"(Y/N)," Lana started in a wistful tone, "You are like a precious child to me."

"You're weird, Lana." You almost laughed at her behavior but held it in because you still had to act angry. You didn't want to cave to Lana immediately.

"Yes, I am aware of that fact. But! My grounds for shipping you both are S-T-R-O-N-G." Lana said enthusiastically, as if she was a lawyer whom had found strong arguments for their case.

"And what are those grounds? Do tell." You coaxed.

"Well, it is for the simple fact that you both would look cute together." Lana after such a strong opening, responded simply.

"And? Why are those arguments strong?" You asked unimpressed while, crossing your arms.

"Pshh, because I said so!" Lana said confidently, raising her chin high.

"Well, me and Lana both know the type of guy you like (Y/N) and Link very much fits that criteria well." Zelda added.

"Well, I would be lying if I said I haven't thought of him in that way." You said in a shy manner, but nothing's wrong with that right. You were sure that every girl and guy friendship must entail at least once, of imagining their friend as their significant other, right?
