"So, today we'll have an election for the new classroom officers..." Mrs. Jaime stated while slowly walking in front of board back-and-forth.

Agad namang nagsaya ang mga kaklase ko sa pahayag ng guro habang binabanggit ng halos lahat ang isang pangalan. Naririnig ko naman sa likod ng mga bulungan ang bungisngis ng lalaki.

I kept silent while looking at my finger nails. I think I need to put some polish in it - I think people should put some sense in their mind.

What's with him that they can't just stop talking? Full package ba 'yan? May ibubuga? Sikat?

"So, let's start with the president-" Mrs. Jaime said as she stopped walking.

"Ma'am!" Loren cut her off. "I nominate Zeus as the president-" diretso niyang sabi.

"Okay-" Mrs. Jaime suddenly stopped. "Yes, Ms. Aiolos?"

"Sino namang ilalaban niya?"

"I nominate Kurtis as the president..." narinig ko pa ang pagbungisngis ni Maraia. Agad naman siyang bumalik sa upuan at bahagya pa akong siniko.

I looked at her with innocent and curious expression. Ngumisi naman siya at nagkibit balikat.

"Let's just see..." bulong niya at humagikhik ng kaunti.

Ang mga kaklase namin ay nagbulungan. Sa harap ako naka-upo kaya 'di ko makikita ang mga reaksiyon nila. Pero, sigurado naman akong nagustuhan nila ang sinabi ni Maraia.

"Oo nga... puwede rin siya!" Sang-ayon ng kaklase ko.

"Ang galing ni Maraia. Pero kanino tayo boboto?"

"Kay Zeus ako!"

"Subukan natin si Tisay!"

"Magbabae naman tayo ng president ngayon!"

"Oo! Ang talino kaya ni Tisay! Siya ang bobotohin ko!"

"Ma'am! I move to close the nomination, Ma'am!"

"I second the motion, Ma'am!"

"Okay... let's start voting then..."

She faced the board and wrote our name on it.

"Raise your hand if your vote is for Zeus..." hinarap niya ulit kami. Ilang segundo siyang naghintay.

She raised her forefinger, then started counting their hands in the air. Afterwards, she turned around again and put the total votes beside his name.

Malawak ang ngisi ko nang makita ang bilang ng mga bumoto sa kanya. He only got 21 votes. Though, we're 45 in the class. The rest of our classmates who did not raised their hands are the ones that votes for me. The majority had me chosen as the president! Nakakatuwa.

Confident talaga akong maipapanalo ko 'to. Dahil nga kilala na ako ng mga kaklase ko at siguradong marami na silang naririnig tungkol sa akin sa ilang araw ko pa lang dito.

"Well, congratulations to the new president of Section A," the teacher gave us a small smile. "Dizon, go here in front and you'll continue the election..."
