Trick
"I like you, too. I like everyone." Dagdag ni Zeus at tumawa sa huli. "Silly..."
Bahagya akong suminghap.
"Kuya Rodi, let's go na!"
"W-wait," I stopped her. "I need to wash my face first..."
Nilingon ako ni Cielo.
"Oh! I forgot!" She covered her mouth. Tinalikuran niya ako at may kinuhang kung ano sa bag niya. Such a cutie...
"Here, Barbie..." she handed me a box of wet wipes.
I was shocked for a moment. Did she even prepared for this? Like this moment? Ang cute niya naman! I accepted the wipes without hesitation.
"Thank you, Cielo..." I pinched her cheeks lightly.
"You're welcome, Barbie!" She tilted her head.
"Let's go?" I asked her after I finished cleaning my face.
"Let's go!"
I stood up and fixed my clothes. But I stiffened when she suddenly hugged my leg.
"Buhat..." aniya.
Hindi ako gumalaw dahil nabigla ako sa ginawa niya. Kinuha naman agad siya ni Zeus sa harap ko at binuhat ito nang walang hirap.
"But, kuya Rodi..." ungot niya at hindi ako nilulubayan ng ngiti.
"She can't handle you, kulit..." Zeus said ang tapped her nose.
Humaba pa lalo ang nguso ng bata at mukhang malapit na siyang umiyak.
"'She's sick po..." he lied.
"Really?" Mabilis na napalitan ng awa ang reaksiyon niya. She looked at me worriedly.
Zeus laughed and started walking. Sumunod naman ako sa kanilang dalawa habang dala-dala ko ang bagpack ni Cielo.
Pagkababa namin ay nasa hapag na 'yong mga handa. Wala lang masyadong bisita dahil medyo maaga pa naman. I found Loren and Eula decorating in the corner together with Cielo's mom.
Lumapit kami sa kanila.
"Mommy..." Cielo called her.
"Yes, honey..." mabilis na lumapit sa kan'ya 'yong Mama niya at binuhat ito. "How did it go?" She looked soft with her daughter. Bagay na hindi niya pinakita sa amin kanina.
"Happy, Mommy." Cielo yawned and leaned on her shoulder. "Sleepy, sleepy..."
"Then you'll go sleep na, okay?"
She nodded her head.
"Bye-bye, Barbie..." she smiled at me and waved her goodbye before they stared to leave the living room.
"Bye, kulit..." Zeus' pinched her cheeks.
Her sleepy gaze continues to linger on me. I gave her a sweet smile at kumaway rin sa kan'ya.
"Nga pala!" Biglang sabi ni Zeus sa likod ko. Mabilis na nabaling ang tingin ko sa kan'ya. "Cielo's mom is the owner of PDC."
Nanlaki ang mga mata ko habang pinanood kong naglalakad paakyat 'yong Tita niya sa hagdan.
Bakit ngayon niya lang sinabi?
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" I asked worriedly. I'd like to thank her about the pastries she made for me. Ano ba yan! Baka sabihin niyang balewala lang sa 'kin 'yon!
