I'm Only A Fool For You [Kai Havertz]

•Chapter 12

POV: Aurelia

Kai dropped me off at my house. "Sorry again, for what just happened" he says with a hint of guilt. "Don't worry, let's just forget about it, it didn't mean anything anyway" My voice sounds painful at the end.

Or did it mean something? "Mhmm" I hear Kai humming.

"Goodbye, text me later" I wave at him and open the door. He waves back. "Yeah, see you later".

I shut the door and see that Claire is surprisingly home. "Hey, how was Kai's?" she asks as she looks up from her phone.

"Oh good, I think Olivia has figured out that she needs to leave him alone" I throw the house keys on the counter and come and sit next to her.

Claire knew about the plan that Kai and I were going to fake date. She thought it was a good idea, but that I should watch out for the consequences. She also said that we would definitely fall in love-- which is not true.

"Tell me everything that happened" she says as she turns her full attention to me. So I do, except that we kissed, she doesn't need to know that. "Nice job" she compliments as I finish telling the story.

"Mhm, I know, what is it for dinner?" I ask changing the subject. I don't really want to talk about it anymore. "I don't know, what do you want?" she asks.

"I feel like going to McDonald's, not very healthy, but very tasty" I grin, shrugging my shoulders. "Okay, sounds like a planf!" Claire says as she stands up.

We ate McDonald's and went straight to bed, because tomorrow we have to get up early for work. I send Kai a goodnight message and go straight to sleep.

I am woken up by the sound of my alarm clock. "Oh, shut up" I mutter as I turn and get out of bed. I do everything I do every morning and go to work.

"Hey girl" Kate says as she receives me in a hug. "Hey, how are you?" I ask her as we break free from the hug. "Good, good and you?" she asks me as she puts some random flower pots on the tables.

"Also good, where is Iris?" I look around and start putting on my apron. "Didn't you read the group chat?" She frowns while retouching some flowers.

I shake my head no. "I didn't have time for that or I was going to be late, what's wrong?" I look up at her and begin to worry. "She has the flu, so she couldn't come".

"Oh no, stupid flu. I'm gonna miss her" I pout a little and then straighten my apron. "Yeah me too, but she'll be back in a week" she says as she finishes placing the flower pots.

"I hope so, but for now let's clean up a bit, because it's quite dirty in here" I head for the cleaning room and grab a sponge with a bucket.

"Finally, lunch break" I sigh and take my food for today out of my bag. It's a random salad as usual. We take a seat at the table where the rest are already seated.

I see Juliette arrive with her two followers. "So, apparently that one handsome footballer has a girlfriend, so now I don't stand a chance" I hear Juliette say as she pretends to cry.

Kate and I both roll our eyes. "Who would she be talking about now?" whispers Kate, but Juliette had heard. "Uhhh, girl are you living under a rock, Kai freaking Havertz has been spotted with a girl in a restaurant, they were kissing, too bad you can't see her face in the picture" she responds immediately.

WHAT. I start choking on a string of pasta. "Okay, who cares" says Kate back to her while I'm still coughing, but now take a sip of water to wash it away.

"Is everything all right?" Kate asks me when I'm back to normal. "Yeah, I just choked on my pasta" I say as I take out my phone. I've never opened Safari so fast in my life.

I type in a few random words and see that, yes, there are pictures of Kai and I in articles. Shit. Suddenly my phone starts making noise and the name Claire<3  appears on my screen. Fuckkk.

"Aren't you going to answer it?" asks Kate as she chuckles."Uh, oh, yeah, oops" I laugh nervously and accept the call.

"HOLY FRICK FRACK WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT YOU AND KAI HAD KISSED! OH MY FRICKING- IT'S IN EVERY ARTICLE YOU READ!" is the first thing I hear when I answer. Of course she knows that I am the girl in the picture, because I had told her the plan that Kai and I were going to fake date, but I did not tell her that we kissed.

I interrupt her rambling. "I'll explain everything when I get home" I say and lay off immediately. Maybe that was a bit mean, but I have to talk to Kai first. I look for Kai's contact name and start calling him.

He doesn't answer, great, he's probably still training. I decide to type a message to see if we can talk. We're in trouble.
