POV: Kai

The smile doesn't leave my face when I see my parents' house in Aachen. Finally home.

We had previously decided to come to Germany a day earlier to meet our families individually. Tomorrow I will leave for Stuttgart for training. For now it is Aurelia and me, and very soon it will be Aurelia, my family and me.

"Wow..." says my girlfriend as she twirls around to take in the beautiful sight of the city.

I grin to myself when I see her this way. "So, is that your parents' house?" She gestures towards my childhood home with her hand that is not occupied with luggage and then looks at me. I nod enthusiastically and put my rucksack on my back so that I can hold her hand.

"This is where I was born and played my first football match with my grandfather. He absolutely loved the game, maybe even more than I do, and that's a lot." My smile widens, if that's even possible, when I think back to all the memories with my grandfather. He made me love football and helped me build my career, he was amazing.

She gives me a gentle smile, in understanding, and walks up to the front door. I join her and look at her, but that is not possible because her eyes are focused on the ground and her thoughts are in a whirlwind. I frown and put my luggage on the ground to take her hands. When our hands touch, she finally looks up.

"Kai, what if your parents don't like me, or what if they-" Her mouth keeps moving, telling possibilities of how things can go wrong, so I cut off her rant with a kiss.

"Now you are going to listen to me. My parents will love you. Of course, the one and only Kai loves you the most out of the Havertz family..." her smile returns and I give her a soft smile in return, "... but it will be fine. They are very sweet and if they don't like you then they are out of their mind."

Of course my mum knows I have a girlfriend. And she really wanted to meet her in real life, because she kept sending me messages telling me when this beautiful girl was coming to visit. I didn't tell my family that I was coming a day earlier. I wanted to surprise them.

I kiss her nose and press another kiss on the corner of her mouth. "Thank you, Kai". I wrap my arm around her waist and ring the bell.

POV: Aurelia

"Oh mein... Frank, sieh mal, wer an der Tür ist!" [Oh my...Frank look who's at the door] A woman I identify as Kai's mother screams and then walks up to her son to squeeze him into a hug.

"Ich dachte, du würdest mich morgen besuchen kommen!"[I thought you were coming to see me tomorrow!]  she says and then notices me.

She takes hold of both my shoulders and changes to English. "Wow, you are even more beautiful than Kai told me. You're Aurelia right?"

I nod my head shyly and think it is better to say something. "Yes Miss Havertz, that's me and thank you for the compliment you're really sweet"

"Oh, no need to say Miss Havertz, that makes me old..." she smiles and in the background I see Frank, her husband approaching his son. "You can call me Helene". I nod my head and follow her inside.

"Lea and Jan are on the terrace. They will be shocked to see you" Helene says warmly to her son. She takes our suitcases and puts them away. Frank has a chat with me about football and then they quickly take us to where Kai's siblings are.

Once I arrive, I see a blonde lady and a brunette boy having a pleasant conversation.

"Das sehe ich auch so..." They turn their heads at the commotion of the sliding door from which we emerge. Lea notices Kai right away and runs up to him, Jan is rather slow in understanding and only realises in a few seconds that his brother is here.
