Chapter 68: Someone Else

George POV

I wake up earlier than I intended to, detangling myself from Dream without waking him and making my way over to my phone.

I turn my flashlight on and check the time.

It was currently 4 in the morning meaning I had hardly managed 4 hours of sleep.

I didn't feel like going back to sleep so instead found a clean pair of joggers on the floor and threw them on.

I put my shoes back on and use the keycard to open the door, leaving it by Dream's phone as I close the door behind me.

I shove my hands into my hoodie and walk down the corridor to the lift, pressing the button and waiting for it to come to our floor.

"George?" I hear a voice behind me ask and I turn around.

"Sapnap?" I ask as he sleepily rubs his eye, standing in the door of his room.

"What're you doing up?" I ask.

"I was half awake listening to the rain outside and I heard the sound of the lift, where are you going?" He asks.

"I don't know" I shrug.

"Wait there, let me get dressed" he says, closing his door behind him.

I lean my back against the wall beside the elevator, staring at my hoodie pocket.

My mood had severely dropped since last night and I didn't know why.

Shouldn't I be happy? I got what I wanted.

I kick my foot at the ground, trying to gather my thoughts.

"Why aren't you happy?" Schlatt asks, helping clean up the mess of the basement. George stays quiet as he throws empty bottles into a bin bag. "Smile you idiot, today was a good day, we've got enough money to leave the country now and start a new life" Schlatt cheers, putting down his bag.

"Tubbo can have a life with you where we don't have to hide anymore, that's if I trust you enough to keep your identity a secret, you know what will happen if you don't" Schlatt reminds George.

George looks over at Tubbo, sitting on the concrete steps with a scared look in his eyes. "That sounds great Schlatt, why don't you see to your friends upstairs while Tubbo and I finish cleaning down here?" George smiles, Schlatt giving him a pat on the back.

"Sounds perfect! It better be clean by the time I'm back down here" Schlatt walks off up the stairs, closing the basement door behind him. Tubbo runs over to George, hugging him tightly. "I don't want to leave Ranboo" He cries. "We won't, Ranboo will be just fine okay? We're not going anywhere and he will be safe"

"George?" I snap out of my thoughts and look up at Sapnap.

I step into the lift as he follows, pressing the button to the bottom floor.

"Are you good? You seemed deep in thought" He asks and I bite my lip.

"Where do you want to go?" I ask, tugging my hoodie up further to cover my neck.

"Anywhere I don't mind- hey isn't that Dream's hoodie?"

"Yeah our things have gotten all mixed up, the room is a complete mess" I say, sitting in the lobby at the window.

"George we're going to freeze if we stay here it's raining"

"Well I wanted to go outside but you tagged along"

"Go in the rain to do what?" He asks.

"Mess around on the beach"

He looks outside at the rain and shivers but smirks nevertheless.
