Cassie fixed her skirt when she heard Bonnie pull up outside before running down the stairs to the door.

"Hey ." Cassie smiled at her friend sliding into the front seat. "Hey you look nice." Bonnie complimented making Cassie smile. "Yeah I had this weird feeling that I just had to wear something nice tonight. I don't know why. " Cassie shrugged. She appreciated the compliment but was still confused on why she decided to wear the outfit tonight. "So are you excited." Bonnie squeeled. "Yup . First time going to this . I can already smell the cheap shitty bear." Cassie joked. "Hmm after 3 bottles you get used to the manky taste." Bonnie laughed . "I'm surprised this thing hasn't been stopped yet. Y'know the underage drinking thing. " Cassie said. "I think one year someone was so drunk they called the cops." Bonnie laughed. "Did they actually come?" Cassie asked giggling . "They didn't . They thought it was some teenager doing a stupid dare. Which is partially  true I guess." Bonnie said. " Hmm I think I know why I didn't want to go most years then." Cassie laughed.

Cassie looked around the small area of the woods filled with teenagers , most of them drunk but she came across a few possibly sober people.

"Hey bon." Matt Donovan came up to the two girls. "Hey Matt." Bonnie smiled. Cassie awkwardly stood there since she hadn't talked to the blonde boy in over two years. "Cassie, right?" He said. Cassie let out a disappointed sigh knowing he hadn't remembered her. They were inseparable two years ago but then it was like nothing ever happened between the two blondes.
Matt couldn't remember any of the many times they managed to make each other laugh.

"Yeah nice to meet you." She said plastering a fake smile on her face. "You wanna drink?" He asked the two girls. "No thanks." Bonnie declined politely . "Yeah that would be great." Cassie's answer was hesitant. Drinking was something she rarely did since her parents died. But today she was starting fresh . Turning over a brand new leaf to a brand new Cassandra Ellfire . After all she couldn't mope around forever. It wouldn't be that way now.

After a few more drinks Cassie was slightly stumbling over to Stefan who was standing there alone. "Hey." Stefan turned his head to see the blonde struggling to walk Infront of him. Her hair was messy and she was playing around with it a lot. "There you are. Have you been down to the falls yet?" Cassie asked with a drunk smile ." Cause they are really cool at night. I can show you if you want." Cassie flirted with Stefan biting her lip. "I think you've had too much to drink." Stefan tried to stop the girl. "Well of course I have. So." She giggled. "Cassandra. Me and you. It's never gonna happen. I'm sorry ." And just like that Stefan left the drunk girl standing there on her own. She turned her head to see him talking Elena Gilbert. Her heart broke even more when she saw them both walk away hand in hand. She tried to hold back tears as she felt a soft hand on her shoulder. "Hey." Bonnie said softly. "How about we go get some coffee to sober you up." She said smiling at the girl who was just staring at where Stefan and Elena were moments before. Bonnie sighed grabbing the girls hand pulling her gently away. Cassie just let Bonnie guide her to the car. They didn't say anything.

Cassie felt it all jealousy, sadness, embarrassment. All of it all at once as they drove to a nearby coffee shop. Cassie opened the car door closing it being her with a bang. Bonnie put a hand on the blondes back as the walked in.

Bonnie looked at the sad girl putting her head down on the table taking occasional sips from her coffee. "You sober yet?" Bonnie asked hopefully. The blonde groaned running a hand through her messy hair. "I need to get you home. I need to get me home." Bonnie added on. "How come he didn't go for me. And how come the guys that I want never want me." Cassie said upset putting her face her in her hands . "I'm inappropriate, always saying the wrong things." Cassie felt jealousy take over all of her emotions. "And Elena always says the right things. She doesn't even try and he just picks her." Cassie said to her friend who stared at her in pity. "And she's always the one that everyone picks for everything. " She paused. "And I always tried so hard. But I'm never the one." Bonnie sighed before speaking. "It's not a competition Cassie." Cassie stared at her friend for a moment thinking about what she just said. "Yeah it is."

Bonnie left the table going over to the cashier to pay for the coffes leaving Cassie sitting at the table alone.
S

he noticed someone staring at her as she looked up. A black haired man was staring at her smirking and for some of odd reason that made Cassie smile.
