You lifted your fist high in the air in victory as you watched the ship take off and saw the light white streaks after it entered hyperspace. "They're away!" you shouted into the communicator as you turned your attention back to the battle.
Your mission was a success, you had saved Omega and knew she would be well protected. You might not get to see her again, but you knew she still had a role to play.
You smiled at the comforting thought of the end, the thought of peace.
You were surrounded, your squad back to back facing a hundred foes, but you were smiling, and so were they. You nodded to each of them, and with resolve pushed back into the troopers knowing that if you were going to die, so were they.
