"Are you out of your right mind?!?" Olivia said, dropping her fork. I jumped back at the sound of the clattering fork, not expecting her to be that loud.
"You and Lucas are literally meant to be. You cannot say no!" Jayden added.
"Were just meant to be friends!" I protested. "Besides, my parents would kill me."
"You've known the dude your whole life, Gabby. They'll take him!" Jayden said, putting her hand on my shoulder.
I went over the necklace that Lucas gave to me with my fingers. I shook my head.
"There's another guy I want to get to know..." I said, bringing a smile to my face. "He's in my history class and his name is Liam."
I found him sitting at a table on the corner with some other boys. I pointed my finger to him, which I instantly regretted. He caught my eyes and sweetly smiled at me. My face turned tomato red and the girls saw him too.
"He's cute!" Jayden said, forgetting about Lucas.
"Oh! Gabby, Will is there too, c'mon let's go talk to him!" Olivia said.
I didn't even get to say anything because right then, Olivia grabbed my hand and dragged me to their table.
"Hey, Willy!" Olivia said, giving William a soft kiss on the lips, I stared at the ground.
'Willy'? I almost gagged. But, I kept my mouth shut. Suddenly, Liam looked up at me.
"You're...Gabby?" Liam asked. It seemed like he tried so hard to get my name right.
I responded by nodding my head and tucking my hair behind my ears.
"Cool, well, I just want to say, that you're invited to my 'beginning of the school year party'." He handed me an invitation slip and I grabbed it. I felt our hands touch and I blushed. I couldn't tell if he was blushing or not, my eyes were on the slip. I decided to keep it that way and I put the paper in my bag.
"Thanks." I smiled.
He nodded again and Olivia and I went back to our table with Jayden.
"He totally likes you!" She squealed.
I beamed and rolled my eyes. Just then, the bell rang and It was time for 6th period.

I made it to my front stoop with Olivia. And unlocked the door. To my surprise, Mom was home. She was sitting on the couch, drinking coffee.
"Mom! Hi! What're you doing here?" I gave my mother a great hug. I hadn't seen her in almost two days.
"Hi, Honey!" She said. "Oh, how much I've missed you! How was your first day?"
"It was good," I replied. "Olivia and I are going to be in my room. See ya!"
Just as we started heading up the stairs, I remembered the invitation Liam gave me.
"Mom, could I go to Liam's party?""We can talk about that later, my show is on!" she turned up the volume.
I glanced over at Olivia and she shrugged.
