In the late summer afternoon, he was sleepy and dazed from the heat.

From his seat in the warm sunlight, Yin Che’s field of view was spackled with orange and yellow spots, making him feel sleepy.

Suddenly, the light behind his eyelids went dark, the sunlight blocked by some mysterious silhouette.

He furrowed his brow and opened his eyes just a slit.

“Wakey wakey, brat, a person has come to sign up.”

Yin Che opened his eyes the rest of the way, finally able to see clearly who had arrived.

“Where……?” He swept his gaze from side to side, but didn’t see any other person. He shifted his body from side to side, looking around Jiang Yao’s body, “There’s no person, you lied to me.”

Jiang Yao leaned down on the table and smiled at him, “Am I not a person?”

Yin Che stared at him blankly, “You want to sign up?”

“That’s right.”

“You know what this club is?”

“I do know. As a matter of fact, isn’t it written there, Handicraft Club.”

Yin Che’s club booth was really shabby compared to the other clubs. He didn’t even have a sign, so he’d taken a piece of white paper and written the words “Handicraft Club” with a marker. He’d laid it out on the table and weighed it down with a wooden pen holder.

There were a few handmade knick-knacks scattered around the table – basically Yin Che had moved them from his dorm bookshelf – barely dressing up the booth.

“I’m the only member of this club,” Yin Che told him honestly, “so there’s no funds and it’s self-funded. There are no activities, it’s pretty boring.”

“That’s perfect. I wanted to take advantage by finding a club just like this.” Jiang Yao lifted the pen, pressing the tip to the registration form, “Is just signing here alright?”

“……okay.”

Jiang Yao wrote out two letters, “ok.”

Yin Che: “……”

What kind of signature is this? Is it a word?

“Hey, that’s not right……” Jiang Yao said suddenly.

Yin Che’s chest squeezed, “What do you mean? You backing out?”

“No, I just had a weird thought. Yang YiLe told me just now that if there are less than ten people, the club would be abolished. This club of yours, it’s you all by yourself? How can it continue? It won’t be shut down tomorrow, right?”

“Who said I’m all by myself.” (t/n: ….you did)

“There are other people? How many? If there are too many people, I really have to back out. I’m just trying to find a quiet place.”

Yin Che said, “There is also a president, a third year. His health isn’t in very good condition, so he’s deferred his attendance.”

“So just the two of you?”

“Previously there were a few more, but after……”

After I became a member, they all left.

“Afterwards, the president handed the club over to me. I didn’t manage it well, so now I’m the only one left.”

And now they had spiraled around to the original matter at hand.

“How can you continue on all by yourself?”
