After buying something, he returned to school, just after 9pm.

The hustle and bustle of the cultural festival had ended. The students had cleaned the classrooms and put the desks and chairs back into their original places.

At first glance, it seemed as if nothing had happened there, like the limited-time magic in Cinderella.

But this precious school festival during their school days would remain in everyone’s hearts, even the fireworks on New Year’s Eve wouldn’t be more dazzling than this.

The day students went home on their own and the boarding students returned to the dorm one by one. On the way there, they excitedly discussed which class had the most interesting activities.

Yin Che took advantage of the school gate being opened for them and sneaked into the school. He went straight back to the dorm, holding a fresh rose bought from the flower shop three blocks away. He went to the neighboring Room 307 and knocked on the door.

“Who…… Ayo, CheChe, come in, I just saw my mei off.” Jiang Yao hadn’t changed out of his school uniform yet and he was covered with the sticker prizes from Wang XiaoRou winning games, which looked a little amusing.

“She wanted to stay here with me, but how could I let her stay in a boy’s dorm? It took a lot of arguing to make her leave just now.”

Yin Che replied, “Cherish these moments. When she grows up, she won’t cling to you anymore.”

Jiang Yao smiled, “Like that stinky didi of yours?”

Yin Che raised an eyebrow, “You’re really going there?”

“Alright, alright, I won’t say anything else, you always side with him.” Jiang Yao finally noticed what was in his hand, “You bought a flower? For who?”

Yin Che casually pushed the flower at him, “Give it to the person you want to chase, hurry up, before it’s too late.”

Jiang Yao held the flower in a daze and stared at it for a while, “……you’re trying to help me chase that person?”

Yin Che replied, “If I don’t and just leave it to you, how long will it take you to chase him?”

Jiang Yao fiddled with carefully decorated wrapping paper and ribbon around the rose, his face blank of any expression.

After a long moment, the corners of his mouth crooked up, his smile very weak, “You don’t have to worry about it. I’ll take care of it myself. Plus this isn’t enough, I want to give him so, so many things.”

For some mysterious reason, Yin Che thought that he didn’t seem to be very happy.

Seems like I made a fool of myself trying to help¹.

“Yeah, it’s not enough.” He pursed his lips. “Sorry, I wasn’t considerate enough.”

“Never mind, let’s not talk about it.” Jiang Yao walked over to his desk, put down the rose, and beckoned him over, “Come see what I got you.”

There was a small jewelry box sitting at the center of his messy desk. It looked ordinary and not like anything particularly special.

Jiang Yao opened the box and gave him the thing inside, “Here, it’s for you.”

A bracelet strap, pure white in color.

“Let me return the favor² and also give you a strap. The braid I made last time was so shamefully ugly, it wasn’t presentable at all.”

The braid pattern of the strap was exactly the same as his gray-brown one, all the overlaps at the same locations, as if they were a pair.

“You braided this yourself?”
