MY face hurts from the now permanent smile. It's been two days since Johnny told me he loved me. That he always loved me. Even in high school. Two days since we kissed. The best kiss of my entire life.
Ugh! I literally groan. Outloud!
I can't help but to smile when I think about it. And I don't wanna be thinking about it either, but I also can't help it.
We're back on speaking terms—I guess you can say that—I have to go over to his house to help with the school project and he stares at me. I blush. Try to hide my smile but that always fails. He sends me secret texts and again I blush and smile.
The night it all happened, I told him to give me some time. Which he agreed to but wasn't happy about it.
I've yet to tell him that I love him too. I'm working on it. Building up the courage to do so. Which leads me to not having said anything to Vi. I'm just living in the moment still. I wanna process it and just enjoy the happiness for now before everyone finds out and start to have an opinion.
Tonight is the first event that was organized for the elementary school that was caught on fire—CasinoNight—the school and town all gathered up to help this event take place. And since I don't know the first thing about poker—I got partnered with Daisy to be in charge of keeping the drinks filled. Sounds easy enough for me.
"Alice?" Violet shouts from her room. I laugh at her whiny desperate tone. "I need of your assistance."
The cutest thing about my friend is her shortness. Which means her emergencies are always needing help zipping up her dress cause her arms are too short or reaching something from the top shelves.
Walking in her room, she's standing in front of her body mirror wearing a Wednesday Addams looking mini dress that only Violet can pull off and look this good in.
She smiles. "I cant button the stupid tiny buttons on the back of my neck." She scowls. I chuckle and walk over to help her.
"I love this dress." I tell her.
Vi smiles again. "Thank you. It's new. I wanted to channel my inner Wednesdays today."
"Ahh," I nod playfully. "Ruthless and homicidal." And she laughs. In reality I can't even see Violet being mean to anyone. The moment I met her she's been super nice and a great friend. All her gothic demeanor might look intimidating to some but Vi is one of the nicest people I have ever met.
"What are you going wear?"
I sigh. "I literally have no clue." Which is true. I'm always struggling to dress up for events like this.
Violet gasps, startling me. "Oooh! Why don't you wear that maroon velvet dress you bought at Windsor?"
My brows raise. "It's so short though for a school event." I argue. "And my boobs—"
