38. On Periods!

MANIK POV

"That wasn't cool you know" I whispered into Nandini's ear when I arrived at school.

NANDINI: "What wasn't cool?" she whispered back when she turned around to face me

She closed her locker and walked away. I ran behind her so I could catch up with her.

"You know what I mean, the kiss yesterday," I said when I was walking beside her

NAVYA: "What kiss?" she asked

"Oops" I laughed and walked away

Nandini didn't look all too happy, her fault I thought.

"Good luck explaining our moment" I shouted and winked just to tease her.

NANDINI POV

"Dick" I whispered

NAVYA: "what does he mean by 'our moment' Nandu?" she asked

"It's nothing Navya, he was just joking" I responded

I wasn't in the mood to explain to her what happened, nothing happened actually...

NAVYA: "Nandini!" she shouted

I stopped and turned around

NAVYA: "Since when do we lie to each other?!" she asked

"Since you lied about being with Aryamaan" and with that being said, I turned back around and continued my walk

It was the truth though since she's with Aryamaan, I've become the second choice...I know I shouldn't have said that, maybe that would wake her up

........

I wasn't in the mood for any sort of company...I shouldn't have opened my big mouth like that towards Navya. I totally blame my period, I'll be glad when I can finally lay in bed with some chocolates.

"Hey, ready to go home?"

Please someone kill me.

"Manik," I said fake overenthusiastic

MANIK: "Hey, someone is happy to see me," he said

"yeaaaa-no," I said depressing

MANIK: "Okaay? Anyway c'mon I'll drop you home," he said getting in the driver's seat.

"You know what, no!" I said

Manik rolled the window of the passenger side down and looked at me confused

MANIK: "What do you mean by 'no,' get in," he said

"No. I'm walking today" I said

MANIK: "Nandini don't be-"

"Don't be what huh?" I asked putting my hand on my hip

He was making me angry

MANIK: "Wow, are you on your period or something?" she asked confused

Mhmm, Awkward...

MANIK: "Anyway, just get in!"

"I said no Manik! You're not my father nor my brother. And you're definitely not my boyfriend, you are nothing to me and I'm nothing to you. When is that going to get through your big head?!" I shouted and walked away not looking back.....

He wasn't following me, he wasn't calling nor texting me...He let me go

Those words hurt me more than I thought they would. It was the truth, he's nothing to me and 

I'm nothing to him. It was never going to work, I need to quit this haram path before I die on it.

I arrived home a half-hour later and immediately went to my room

MOM: "Hey Nandu, how was college?" she said stopping me from going upstairs

"Awesome mom" I responded

MOM: "What's wrong honey?" she asked

"Ummm nothing" I faked a smile

"I'm just on my period, I'm having some cramps" I responded

MOM: "Oh, I'll make you some soup and I'll bring you a painkiller" she kissed my forehead and went back to the kitchen

I sighed and walked upstairs to my room.

*Next Day*

God, what am I going to do? Navya is avoiding me, I haven't seen Arya all day and Manik was avoiding me too. Why wouldn't they, I screwed up big time. My own fault

I closed my locker strongly out of anger until I heard a familiar voice

"What did that locker do to you Nanz?" there was only one person that called me 'Nanz'

"Siddharth!" I shouted out of joy

I embraced him tightly

SID: "Wow, someone is happy to see me"

I loosened my grip and punched his upper arm.

SID: "Aww, what was that for?" she asked rubbing a sore spot.

"For not meeting up until today" I responded

"But what are you doing here?" I asked

SID: "Well, I have a day off so I decided to visit you.." he said

"Oh did you" I laughed

"Anyway, are we meeting after school?" I asked

SID: "Actually I was wondering if you don't want to skip today?" he asked looking at me with widened eyes

"I can't just skip Sid," I said

SID: "Why not? C'mon Nanz,pleaseeeeee" she said looking at me with his puppy eyes

"Fine, how can I say no to those eyes...And I've missed you" I said

SID: "Yess!" he shouted and hugged me again

Sid swang his arm over my shoulder like he used to do and we walked out of school together. He always did that, we were and are just friends.

SID: "School isn't the same without you!" he said

"Yes I really miss our school days, the way we used to have fun" I responded

SID: "I thought you had some friends in college?"

"I had," I said

SID: "What about, what's her name, oh Navya? And Manik? hu-hu," he said pushing me with his shoulder.

"He, we, well...I'm having some issue with both of them"

SID: "Explain," he said looking at me confused.
