I couldn't be more grateful ✨✨✨"Yang Jungwon" said a voice.
It's weird how sometimes a second can stretch in time. At this instant, Yang Jungwon saw everything so clearly.
He could remember how happy he felt when he had announced to his grandmother he had been accepted as a trainee.
He remembered feeling bad when he had no money to go home on his first day.
He remembered how anxious and excited he was upon walking the I-Land entrance path. All these memories were linked to the deepest and purest emotions he had ever experienced. For some reason, they had decided to pierce the surface of his conscience and overwhelm him right now. Jungwon suddenly felt like he was 16 again. Every emotion seemed so hard to take back then.
However none compared to what came next.
The pain of the survival show, both physical and emotional, was still there. It fueled him every day. It was a token of every effort he had given to achieve his dream.
On the other hand, this time period also reflected the best moments of his life: debuting, making friends, dancing and singing together... getting closer to someone special.Jay had been on his mind for so long now. The first smile he gave Jungwon would forever be carved into his mind.
They had had their ups and downs, like everyone does, but one thing that never changed along the years was the fact that Jungwon could rely on Jay for everything and at any given time.
Even when they were talking less, being more distant, Jay always made sure Jungwon could count on him.Jay was patient, caring and devoted. Whenever Jungwon had doubts and felt insecure, a simple smile from Jay lessened the burden. Actually that's why Jungwon had bought several of their albums, until he finally pulled a pc of Jay. He kept it in his wallet, in case of "I need a smile emergency".
Yes... Jay was Jungwon's lifeline, and he had come to realize how empty his life was without him. Whenever they were apart, Jungwon spent his time thinking about Jay, picturing how perfect he looked, imagining his arms hugging him tightly and remembering how good it felt being with him.
Jungwon and Jay had shared so much during their seven years as Enhypen members. Their first kiss, their first time being together, their first relationship. It hadn't been easy. The other members were the only ones aware of the relationship. Hopefully it had been enough for the couple. After all, they were their family.
"Do you" continued the voice.
However Jungwon's couldn't perceive it distinctly. All he could think about was the night before. Jay and him were spooning in their bed, almost asleep. After a few minutes, Jay turned around to face Jungwon.
"Do you want to be the big spoon?" asked Jungwon, in a whisper.
"No, that's not it. I'm a bit nervous about tomorrow" explained Jay. "We've been under this contract for so long, I don't know what to expect about its end."We'll make it work" replied Jungwon, using the most comforting tone he could.
They talked for a bit before falling. Jungwon woke up feeling weird. This was the last day.
As the contract ended, the members had decided to take a break, because there was something they wanted to do, but they couldn't while under said contract. Now was the time they had all waited for.
"Take this man as your husband?" asked the voice, suddenly bringing Jungwon back in the present.
In front of him stood the person he loved the most on Earth.
Jay was wearing a fitted suit that complimented his shape in the best way possible. He had a peach colored flower pinned on his jacket. Jungwon didn't know its name, but it didn't matter.Besides them stood their family: Sunoo, Heeseung, Sunghoon and Niki, all dressed up as well.
Jungwon smiled as he took Jay's hands in his."I do" he answered, feeling butterflies spreading their wings and flying in his stomach.
"Park Jongseong, do you take this man as your husband?" asked Jake, smiling uncontrollably.
"Of course I do" replied the latter, side smiling at Jungwon.
"By the powers invested in me by ourselves, I declare you husband and husband" said Jake, almost crying. "You may now kiss."
For the second time today, everything stopped around Jungwon. However, this time Jay was in the bubble with him.
It didn't matter it wasn't an official wedding. It didn't matter no one knew about the cute little ceremony taking place under their favorite willow tree.
It didn't matter if they had to keep that secret during their second contract. The only thing that mattered was right in front of Jungwon, smiling at him.
Jungwon slid his hands up Jay's arms and wrapped them on his neck, as Jay slowly put his hands on Jungwon's waist.
They leaned in and gently kissed."I love you" whispered Jay.
"I love you too" replied Jungwon, as their family cheered for them.
