"Everyone get downstairs, dinner is ready!" Mrs. Kim called out from the bottom of the stairs, her voice echoing through the quiet house. She glanced up, watching as one by one the family came down. But when she didn’t spot Jungkook among them, her gaze fell on Taehyung. She gave him a small nod, silently asking him to fetch the younger.
Taehyung smiled at her in understanding and quietly made his way to Jungkook’s room. Without bothering to knock, he gently pushed the door open and stepped inside. He found Jungkook sitting at his desk, completely focused on his laptop, eyes locked on the screen, typing away. Taehyung let out a soft sigh and shook his head fondly at Jungkook’s never-ending work habit. He walked over and sat beside him, but Jungkook was too absorbed to even notice.

"Kookie," Taehyung called softly, trying to get his attention. Jungkook finally looked up, startled for a moment, before his features melted into a soft bunny smile. But instead of turning away from his screen, he returned to typing, still focused on whatever he was working on.
"Bun, let’s go. Dinner is ready," Taehyung said again, gently running his fingers over Jungkook’s ear, playing with it like he always did when trying to coax him away from work.
"Coming, sweetheart. Just let me finish this," Jungkook mumbled, eyes never leaving the screen. He had already forgotten how much Taehyung disliked delays when it came to meals. "Kook, you’re still working?" Taehyung asked quietly, his voice filled with concern as he looked at him with soft, disappointed eyes.
That made Jungkook pause. He turned to see the worried expression on Taehyung’s face, and his guilt surfaced immediately. Without hesitation, he shut his laptop and placed it aside, then reached for Taehyung’s hand and held it gently in both of his.
"I’m sorry, baby. I didn’t mean to work. I just got a little bored while you were busy in the kitchen, so I started doing something." he said apologetically, lips turning down slightly.
Taehyung smiled faintly, leaned in, and kissed his cheek. "It’s okay," he whispered, his voice light with forgiveness. "Now come on, everyone’s already eating."
He tugged at Jungkook’s hand, and like a completely smitten man, Jungkook followed him obediently, smiling like a bunny as he let Taehyung pull him along.
"Oh, look who finally decided to join us. Let’s start eating now, boys," Mr. Kim said with a chuckle as he saw the two enter the dining room.
The couple sat beside each other and began eating with the rest. Laughter and chatter filled the air, warm and comfortable, until Mr. Jeon raised his voice slightly to get everyone’s attention.
"So," he began, setting his fork down, "Mr. Kim and I were talking, and since you all went to the beach yesterday, we thought it would be nice to do something different. This time—hiking."
