You and light slowly walk back to the room.
All of the detectives (excluding L) look at Light in suspense.
"Well?" Matsuda asks, not being able to hide his excitement.
Light looks over at you and looks back at the crowd.
"Aha-yeah, N/n told me something that would only be known by someone who knows everything about me," Light says.
"So you really aren't going to say who Kira is?" Chief Yagami asked
"Sorry to disappoint. However, when there are certain incidents that I wish to change, then I will have to interfere, "you say
Specifically, the deaths of L and Light
You still weren't entirely sure how you would be able to let Light live at the same time as L, but you knew you still had plenty of time.
"Do you have the power to tell us if Kira wins or not?" Matsuda asked.
You look over at Matsuda.
Matsuda POV:
Wow, looking at N/n closer, she looks really pretty. We're lucky to have her on the task force.
You noticed how Matsuda was looking at you and you laughed.
I hope the other characters don't take offense to Matsuda's slight interest in me.
It was too late. Light was already staring daggers at him while L was silently thinking of how to discipline him.
The other detectives were oblivious to the looks being given to Matsuda, too busy waiting for your response.
"I do have that power. But, in war, there are no winners, only casualties. In this case, Kira as well as the remaining task force—no, the whole world will suffer tremendously, "you respond calmly."
Matsuda stares at you with admiration.
"That was a cool way to put it N/n!" Matsuda yelled
"Thanks?" You responded
The other detectives were also in shock. Mostly Light and L, but they managed to hide it
Light POV:
Knowing that Kira will suffer makes me feel uneasy. She did say that the task force will suffer too.. It seems like I have to work harder.
You clap your hands together.
"Okay, anyways, I'll just watch you guys attempt to solve the case. Will that be okay?" You asked L.
"Very well," L said.
You take a seat on the couch and watch as L and Light get down to business.
L shows Light the 2nd Kira's videos
"So, what do you make of this Light? Have you come to any conclusions? " L asked Light
"It's hard to say for sure, but there might be another person out there with Kira's power. At the very least, I'd say this tape was not created by the Kira we are familiar with." Light started off his deduction.
"It's extremely out of character for him to use these kinds of victims for his killings. Since we've established he needs a name and a face, it makes you wonder how he was able to kill the detective."
Of course you are aware of that, Light.
"I think you're exactly right about that; we believe this is also the work of a second Kira," L replied.
"As expected, you did not disappoint us. You've been a great help. It's decided then, first we must focus on stopping this copycat. From what we see, he sympathizes with the real Kira.
"I think he might even be able to obey the real Kira. If so, we can lure him into a trap by Kira, "L announced.
L and Light look over at you for some form of validation.
You nod your head.
"Since you guys already came up with it, I should just tell you. Yes, that's right, there is a second Kira." You say
"That settles it, Light. I would like you to play the real Kira," L told Light, more as a demand than a request.
"The real Kira?" Light asked.
"Do you think you can script a message from Kira in time for it to be on the news?" L asked Light.
You and Ryuk start to laugh. You hid your laughter with your shirt
Ryuk looks over at you and you both smile, but then he appears a bit paranoid, as he still can't figure out why you don't have a name or day count above your head.
You shot Ryuk a peace symbol.
He shivers
You remain seated in a relaxed position. You didn't get much sleep the night before, so you were a bit tired.
They wouldn't mind if I fell asleep, right? I hope nobody disturbs me...
Shoving the thoughts of being watched in your sleep aside, you take off your shoes and put your feet on the couch, where you lie down.
Your movement was quiet since you didn't want anyone to notice right away.
Grabbing a pillow and getting into a comfortable spot, you close your eyes and fall asleep quickly.
