It's Obvious

Y/N POV

"Yeah Camilo behave." Mirabel said as she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

I looked over at Camilo. He had moved from sitting up to just laying down flat on the bed.

"So, are you just gonna sit here and sulk, or, we could actually do something?" I said to him.

"Like what?" He said.

"I don't know, what do you want to do?"

"Get out of here." He sat up.

"Other than that."

He fell back onto the bed with sigh.

"Well if you're gonna be like that I'll just do something on my own." I said reaching into my bag for my sketchbook.

"What's that?" I saw Camilo looking at the sketchbook.

"A sketchbook."

"Let me see." He sat up on the bed.

"Uh- no."

"Why?"

"Because I don't like people looking at my sketches."

Camilo shot up with surprising energy and snatched the sketchbook out of my hands.

"Camilo!"

He had the book in one hand and held me back with the other. He began to cough causing me to stop reaching for the sketchbook. He took the opportunity to open the sketchbook.

"Dang these are actually good I don't know why you're so panicked about me seeing..." He stopped when he flipped to the drawing of him.

I couldn't tell if he looked at me or not because I was looking away. I heard the page flip again, and again, and again. I already knew what was on each of the pages.

Last night I had busied myself late into the night with drawing. I don't know why, I just did it. I had filled several pages with random drawings of him. I think I was attempting to get him off my mind last night.

Suddenly I was pulled forward, causing me to fall onto the bed next to Camilo. I was unresponsive due to the sudden shock. He wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me towards him. My head now resting on his chest

"I'm tired. I think I'd rather do this." He whispered.

"Camilo... You're gonna get me sick." I pointed out reluctantly.

"Good, then I'll get to take care of you."

I didn't respond as I felt his chest moving up and down with each breath he took. He broke one of his hands away from my waist, and began to play with my hair. His scent drew me in, it was almost hypnotic. I snuggled deeper into his chest as our breath began to sync up.

When his head fell onto mine I could tell he had fallen asleep. I softly chuckled at how fast he had dozed off.

After a couple of minutes my eyes began to droop and I felt myself drift to sleep.

Pepa's POV

After an hour or two in town, Félix had calmed me down enough for the temperature to rise again. We decided to stop by the Casita to check on Camilo.

"You don't think he tried to leave again?" I asked Félix when we entered the house, suspicious at how quiet it was.

"No, Abuela probably left someone watching him." Félix said.

"Who?"

"Maybe Mirabel." Félix guessed

"Yeah... wait- didn't we see her in town doing Camilo's chores though." I said as we reached Mirabel's door.

When I opened the door my jaw dropped, but quickly formed back into a smile.

"Pepa?" Félix said.

I moved out of the way so he could see inside the room. His jaw dropped too. I quietly closed the door.

"FÉLLIIXX OUR BABY." I whisper yelled at my husband in excitement.

"Did I see that right?" Félix said still grasping what he saw.

"Félix you know what you saw, but that also means..."

"Pepa..."

"I was right, you doubted me but I was right."

"Pepa..."

"Oh come on Félix, they so obviously like each other." I said pointing out the obvious.

"Well yeah, but we don't know how it'll go, you remember what happened last time Y/N was here. How she left?" Félix said.

"Of course I do. But we don't know if that'll happen this time." I thought for a moment, "...But we could."

"Pepa I don't know if that's a good idea." Félix said uncertainly, "Plus, I'm not sure if you're brother will be willing to do it. He's still nervous about looking into the future."

I sighed,

"I guess you're right about that." I admitted, "But not about everything else!"

Camilo's POV

Time skip brought to you by 'I'm Jorge I make the spackle.'

To my annoyance my sleep was disturbed by an irritation in my throat. I held back the need to cough because Y/N was still asleep.

I guess I failed because I saw Y/N had woken up and was staring at me.

"Don't do that dumbass. It's only gonna make it worse." Y/N told me as she reached over for the glass of water on the bedside table and handed it to me.

While she did I coughed into my elbow, then drank some of the water.

"Rude." I said to her.

"It was only the truth." She shrugged.

"So you think I'm stupid?" I said with fake hurt in my voice.

"Most of the time."

I frowned at her.

"That's not gonna make me take it back." She said as she stood up, "I'll be back."

"Noo stay here." I said as I grabbed her arm stopping her from leaving.

"I'm getting you food you dork, plus I'll be back so stop pouting." She teased but gave me a warm smile.

I checked the time as she left the room, it was already 1:26 in the afternoon. I was planning to patiently wait for Y/N to come back. But I got bored after a couple of minutes.

I gazed around the room looking for something interesting to see. Although it had been years since I had spent more than an hour in this room. Nothing had really changed, although it was messy because of Mirabel's permanent residence in here. But I was also used to the mess considering Mirabel shared this room until I had gotten my gift.

Now that I think about it I'm not sure why we didn't just give Mirabel her own room when we had to rebuild the house.

My gaze flicked over to the sketchbook that still laid on the bed. I glanced towards the door before picking it up.

I looked through the pages more carefully this time. I admired the attention to detail. To say I was amazed was an understatement, Y/N had pretty much nailed every detail of me. Without a reference I assume, because I didn't see her drawing any of these. I noticed at the bottom of the pages there was the date they were drawn.

On some of the pages there was little notes scribbled by the dates. Including the one from Y/N's second day here. I read it,

Hah screw you art block, I win.

I was slightly confused until I read the date from the previous drawing and saw it was a month or two before the one with the note.

'Cute.' I thought.

A/N

Pepa definitely ships it.
