Y/n Murphy was the little sister to John Murphy. Well, technically they were twins, but she was a few minutes younger. She was the only person John cared about. No one else. Just her. Unlike her brother, Y/n was nicer, not an asshole. Though if you...

The halls were quiet. There were cameras in almost every corner, just like the quarantine cells that the teenagers had woken up in. The alarms had stopped, but Mount Weather was still a bit on alert from what happened with Clarke Griffin and Y/n Murphy. People were still seen, having dinner even after what had happened. Some were in the rooms they were placed in. The lights were bright, the white floors and walls adding to the brightness of the hallways which could've made it impossible for some people to see if they were in a dark room for a while.
Handcuffs were over Clarke and Y/n's wrists as they were led into an office by some of the officers of Mount Weather. On the other side of the office, President Dante Wallace stood there, his back turned to them as he was painting on a canvas. Opera music played throughout the office as the two girls were stopped right by the desk that was in-between them and Wallace who still didn't turn around.
"Lose the handcuffs." Wallace demands to which the guards obey, taking off the cuffs as he didn't turn around. "And you must be Y/n. The other leader. There's a blank canvas if either of you'd like."
"I used to pain the ground, too." Clarke speaks up.
"It's not just the ground. It's a memory." Wallace informs.
"You've been outside?" Y/n asks.
Wallace nods. "Yes. Fifty-six years ago. For five minutes. I was seven when the first of what we call the outsiders appeared. Before that, we thought we were all there was. Imagine our surprise."
"We don't have to imagine." Y/n states, sharing a glance with Clarke.
"My father, this was his office at the time, believed it meant that the earth was survivable again, and so, he opened the doors. Within a week, fifty-four people were dead from the exposure. My mother and sister among them." Wallace explains, finally turning around to face them. "Loss... pain, regret. Time eases these things, girls, but the only time it's ever truly gone is when I'm painting."
"You didn't bring us here to talk about painting. Did you?" Clarke concludes.
"I'm afraid I have bad news. Our patrols have swept the area and found no evidence of survivors, either at your camp or from the Ark." Wallace informs.
Y/n shakes her head. "How can they be sure?"
"They can't." Wallace replies. "I've ordered them to keep searching."
"We need to see for ourselves." Clarke interrupts, speaking over him.
"I'm sorry. I can't allow that. I'm doing this for each of your own good, girls. It's not safe out there." Wallace tells them.
"Radiation has no effect on us." Clarke reminds.
"It's not the radiation I'm concerned about." Wallace states, motioning the guards back in the room. "You both need time to grieve. These men will show you two to your room."
"And if we try to leave?" Y/n questions.
"Please don't test me, Y/n." Wallace replies.
With clenched jaws, the girls stomp out of the room with the guards on each sides of them while the president watches them walk out of his office.
Like earlier in the day, the tables were neatly done with people standing all around, hands clasped together as they spoke grace, the president's voice echoing throughout the room. The silverware was neatly placed beside the bowls and plates, cups full of water sitting beside them. Flowers sat in vases that were also full of water, like they had when the teenagers were at earlier in the day. Adults and teenagers stood around tables as they listened to Wallace speak, repeating a phrase.
Y/n stood in-between Clarke and Jasper as she wore a nice pair of dress pants, a nice shirt with a blazer-like clothing over top of it. A pair of flats were on her feet as her hands were clasped with Clarke and Jasper's. Monty stood on the other side of the blonde. When they finished grace, everyone sat down and began eating. Both Monty and Jasper watched silently as the two girls in-between them seemed to hesitate on eating the food.
The girls looked at each other where Clarke grabbed Y/n's hand from underneath the table, holding it tightly before they placed the spoons in their mouth, humming in delight which Jasper and Monty couldn't help but smile that. Clarke looks over at Wallace, seeing he had been watching her and Y/n with a smile as he waited for them to eat. Y/n followed her gaze and they both smiled at him a bit when he smiled at them.
With that, the girls continued eating with their hands still clasped together under the table. When dinner was finished, everyone had been led back to their rooms where the two girls walked into theirs, bunkbeds laying around. Jasper and Monty sat across from one another as the Green boy showed his best friend a card trick. Clarke walked past them, giving Y/n and them a smile as she stopped by her bed.
Y/n smiled at her two friends, placing herself beside Jasper while Monty now showed her the card trick. A smile comes onto her face at the trick, her and Jasper watching as he did more. Clarke soon joined them, seating herself beside Monty. As they all spoke to one another fondly, Y/n's mind was somewhere else. It was on a certain boy.
