CHAPTER FOUR:

SEEING A FAMILIAR FACE

The chirps of birds and crickets and the buzzes of the insects flying around were loud as they minded their own business, not focusing on what was going on with the humans around them and the fighting that had happened before. The sun was currently hiding behind the clouds, occasionally coming out of it's hiding spot and shining down on the citizens.

It was silent as Monty stared at his mother with wide eyes, watching as she took off her mask, revealing her face. Hannah Green held a relieved expression at the sight of her son before she was wrapping her arms around him once he had been released, feeling him hug her back instantly. A deep voice calls out to the many people, telling them to stand down and Kane was turning to face the man standing over him, having recognized his voice.

The man removes his mask, revealing the face of Charles Pike, someone Kane had known well on the Ark. Pike smiles as he helps Kane up to his feet, the two men sharing a hug as the others get up to their feet. Bellamy was quick to be by Y/n's side, checking her in case if they hurt her but she only shook her head, softly reassuring him she was fine as she glanced around while he was wiping the slight dirt off her face. Meanwhile, Monty eventually pulled away from the hug with his mother and looked around in search of another familiar face.

"Where's dad?" Monty questions, looking back at his mother.

Hannah frowns. "Your father didn't make it."

At his mother's words that sent a pain to his heart, the boy felt the watery tears start to prick at his dark eyes, all while the others stared at the mother and son with apologetic looks. Monty didn't say anything, only wrapping his arms around his mother again as Bellamy pulled Y/n's head close to his by having his hand on the back of her head, his lips pressing a kiss to Y/n's head as the girl looked around at the people of the Farm Station.

"How many of you are there?" Kane asks the man in front of him.

"Sixty-three. The rest are camped in the mountains north of here, grounder killers one and all. Am I right?" Pike calls out, getting whoops from everyone else.

Y/n walks to the men with Bellamy behind her. "Hate to cut this short. We gotta find Clarke."

"Clarke Griffin?" Pike questions, receiving a nod as he looks to Bellamy. "If only all of my earth skills students were as good as her."

Bellamy smiles a bit. "It's good to see you, sir."

A chuckle leaves Pike as he shakes the boy's hand before some people in the Farm Station, Bellamy and Monty were heading towards the tree trunk that had been blocking their destination, needing to push it out of the way. Y/n watches as Bellamy walks beside Monty as they begin to push, not noticing Pike glanced over at her. He had recognized her after a few seconds, remembering how he had watched her be dragged off in the Ark by the guards.
