Today was not a good day for Y/n at school. Everyone in her class was making their father's day gifts.
But Y/n just sat in class reading a book. Not making a project.
She didn't have a dad. It was only her mom and herself.
"Y/n?" Miss. Frigerio asks as she squats down to the small 6-year-old girl.
Y/n looked up at her teacher with small tears in her eyes. Miss. Frigerio walked her outside the room before explaining to the student teacher that she was going to have a small talk with her.
"Y/n, honey. Can you tell me what's the matter?" Miss. Frigerio asks Y/n as she sits down in a small chair.
"E-Everyone gets to make something for their daddy. But I don't have a d-daddy." Y/n says as she bursts into tears after letting out her feelings.
"Oh sweetheart." Miss. Frigerio says as she gently holds Y/n and gives her a hug.
Her teacher knew that Y/n didn't have a dad because Ariana explained it to her when they met on the first day of school.
Everyone knew Y/n is sweet and sensitive. So many kids have messed with her while she has been in Kindergarten.
Now being in first grade, Y/n has been more quiet and has gotten even more sensitive.
"How about we call your mommy, and tell her that you need to go home?" Miss. Frigerio says as she gently wipes the tears off of Y/n's cheeks.
Y/n nods and goes inside the classroom to get of her things while her teacher calls the office to explain the situation and call Ariana to come pick Y/n up.
"Okay, Y/n your mom will be here in a few minutes. The office said you can wait in there for her, okay?" Miss. Frigerio says as she helps Y/n into a seat in the office.
Y/n nods and grabs her book out and continues to read. Not even 5 minutes later, Ariana walked into the office, signed Y/n out for the rest of the day, picks her daughter up and heads to her car.
"Baby girl." Ariana says as they walk into the front door. Y/n looked at her mom. "How about we have a Y/n/n and mommy cuddle day?"
"I would love that mommy." Y/n says as she and Ariana both grab snacks, drinks and a few takeout menus and head to Ariana's room.
Ariana spent the rest of her day with her baby girl. Not giving a care in the world if Y/n doesn't have a dad or not.
Eventually she might. But for right now it will always be Y/n and Ariana.
