"Everyone has at least one great love, Layton is your one. I know, you know, and she should know."

Friday | October 11th

It was another Friday afternoon and Layton stood at a cash register in Foot Locker. Work had been weird for her since she'd had to break things off with Rocco not too long ago. He'd avoided working with her on every occasion, but today he had no choice but to work with her since it was a busy Friday with a popular release.

"Hey," Layton spoke as he stood at the resister beside her. Rocco slowly glanced her way, before redirecting all of his attention back over to the cash register again. Layton rolled her eyes at his bitch attitude. It had only made her happier with her decision more and more.

"Wassup." He said briefly, with a slight head nod.

"Listen Rocco, I don't want things to be this awkward between us. I love my job, but all of the tension not so much. I know I'm to blame for leading you on and I'm sorry about that. Can we just start fresh?" She'd asked in hopes of him just dropping it. She should've known better, this was Rocco we were referring too, unlikely.

Rocco sucked his teeth. "Nah Layton, that ain't how it go. We can be cordial, but it don't change the fact that you played me. You knew you ain't wanna be with me, but you kept me along until you finally had the nerves to tell me the truth. I thought more of you." He said to her and the words kind of stung a little. Layton wasn't usually that person, so it was weird to be in this spot.

"I apologized. I know it was wrong and I apologized a couple times now. I've said my peace and that's all. If you want to hold a grudge, that's fine too." She said to him and left it at that. She wasn't about to kiss his ass, that was done for. He would come around eventually.

While Layton was finding trouble making peace with Rocco, Benji was about to cause some. He sat outside of Megan's house, in the comforts of his car. He had a lot of stuff on his mind lately and she had been one of those things. BG felt confused a bit. He wasn't sure if his actions would cost him more than he thought, or if just leaving was the best idea. After a few moments of thought, he'd finally decided on what he needed to do.

Open the door. Benji typed the text quickly and sent it over to Megan, who responded back just as quickly.

It's open. Megan responded briefly.

As he looked down at the words, he released a sigh. It was then that Benji grabbed the bouquet of roses from his passenger seat and proceeded to get out. With long strides, it took him little to no time to make it onto the porch. He proceeded inside and followed the smells of breakfast food into the kitchen where he'd found her.

"Wassup." He greeted her as he walked inside. Megan gave him a brief side hug as he handed her the flowers quickly. It wasn't an every time thing that he bought a bouquet of flowers for her, but she liked it so he did it. It was just a sweet gesture, nothing too far out there.

"Hey BG, thank you." She told him, trying to hold her smile. After admiring the vibrant red roses, Megan put them aside and looked back at him. "How are you?"

Benji shrugged. "Shit, I'm good. You?" He went on to ask her next, while he stood up against the counter. He was being honest, despite his heavy mind and heart.
