I scraped at my skin with my key. It wasn't sharp enough to cut through my skin with a single slice, but the rhythmic motion was almost soothing. How someone could live with three largest personalities on the planet and not be seen by one of them beyond me. I wasn't trying to be needy. I just wanted one of them to notice I wasn't okay. The jagged edges of the metal tore at my skin and I thought maybe I should just get a blade. There were plenty lying around the cabana.

I snuck into the kitchen. They were all chatting about the last adventure. None of them acknowledged me. I slipped the dagger off the coffee table. I paused for a second. What if they noticed it was missing? That was kind of the point, wasn't it? I was doing this for attention and none of them ever noticed. Not when I wore long sleeves on our adventure to a literal volcano. They didn't notice when I had dug my blade into my palm in front of them when we set up camp. No one said anything when we got back and I down a half a bottle of sleeping pills and told them not wake me up. Maybe this would get through to them if they even noticed the blade missing.

I made my way to the bathroom. I sat on the floor, staring up at the sink. I gritted my teeth. I couldn't believe this what I had resorted to. I pressed the cool blade to my skin and rolled it so I couldn't see my reflection. I didn't even press that hard and crimson rolled down my forearm. I watched it pool in the crease of my elbow. It hadn't hurt as much as thought, but it was pouring fast and I realized I fucked up.

"Shit!" The knife clattered to the ground. I grabbed the towel off the rack, bumping the wall in the process. I would worry about explaining the blood stain later. I just need to make it stop now. There was a bang on the door and my name.

"I'm fine," I lied through gritted teeth.

I had to think through this. Clean up the evidence. I stood and turned on the water. I raised the blade under with my good hand. I keep pressure on my wrist by pressing it to the counter. I needed a bandage. I bent back down and opened the counter and pulled out the first aid kit. I wrapped my arm in cotton and ace bandage. I put everything back, exactly how I found it. I balled up the towel and put it on the bottom of the dirty clothes under the stuff that was already in there.

I took a deep breath. There was no evidence. All I had to do was put the blade back. I opened the door and was face to face with all three of them.

"Are you okay? You sounded like you were having a festia in there," Panchito chuckled.

"What are you doing with that?" Donald asked, seeing the blade. I didn't have time to answer before José gasped.

"Mi amor your wrist."

I glanced down. I hadn't pulled my sleeve back down. Shit. Blood dripped down my fingers from where I hadn't secured the bandage well enough. He tried grabbed it but I hid it behind my back.

"Why would you do such a thing, hermoso?" Panchito step forward and wiped away a tear that I didn't know had fallen.

I couldn't answer but I had got what I wanted. All their eyes were on me, and it made me feel like shit. They all knew now. I shook, trying not to cry. Arms wrapped around and they pulled me to the living room. Donald re-wrapped the bandage, and José and Panchito whispered small comforts in my ear. I knew it wouldn't last, but nothing ever does.
