I trusted Jim so a bike ride through the city to an undermined location should have been fine. It was his intentions that made me uneasy. He wanted me to move so we were apartment hunting. Well Jim was apartment hunting and he wanted me to live with him.

It was a great idea in theory. There were many flaws in practicality. Mainly my nightly activities with Darkwing. I didn't need him questioning me. Though he worked nights too, which helped me avoid awkward dine and dashes on him. Also he wanted to live in the city, which was 30 minutes from Gosalyn and Drake. It would be easier to join them on patrol but I like being in their lives as civilians too.

A mixture of panic and excitement flooded my mind as he parked and led me across the street to an old building that towered above most of the city. We met a skinny man with a clipboard in the lobby. He was a realtor and he showed us to the elevator. It shot up quickly and opened to a small lobby with only one door. He scanned a card and pushed the door open into the apartment.

I knew I would love it before he opened the door. I stalked all the high rise apartments for weeks when Drake told me he was adopting Gos. This was one of the most expensive buildings. Still I wasn't prepared. It was the penthouse, which I wasn't planning on asking Jim how he could afford. I knew he had money but not this kind of money.

My eyes fluttered over the expensive couch, massive flat screen tv, and the kitchen's black marble countertops. I immediately went to the balcony. There was a jacuzzi covered by a gazebo and tanning chairs. I ignored all of it and marched straight up to the glass wall balcony. I pressed on to it.

"I knew you'd go for that first," Jim chuckled behind me.

"I love it," I said.

"I'm glad because it's ours," he smiled.

"What?" I asked him and looked at the realtor.

"Yes, I was dropping off the keys to Mr. Starling. It's officially your place. I'll leave you to get settled," he smiled and bowed out of the place.

"What about the stuff?" I asked, looking at the couch and tv.

"I had someone come in and decorate. They can come back if you don't like it," he wrapped his arms around me, "but we should at least try the bed first."

I laughed and he kissed me. My back pressed into the glass. I looked down the side of the building.

"Do you like the view?" he asked.

"Definitely," I mumbled.

"Me too," he hummed.

He lifted me up and placed me on the edge of the balcony. I yelped at the action and clung to him. Adrenaline raced through me. The wind whipped through my hair and around our faces. He chuckled and bit my neck. It was pure ecstasy. Until my phone rang, making me jump. I clung to him harder, making him laugh. Reluctantly he slid me down to the floor.

"You're being summoned," he growled.

"Just give me a minute," I said. I made my way to the kitchen. "Gos, what's up?"

"You're picking me up from school right so we can go shop for you know," she trailed off and I knew Drake was standing nearby.

"Oh I forgot," I groaned.

"It's tomorrow. I want to go out before we go out on patrol tonight," she whispered on the phone.

"Gos, who is that? You need to be getting ready for school, give me the phone," D said in the background. "Hey, _____. Sorry she's been distracted all morning."
